No offense, but I would find it hillarious if there was a post on this site about your card incident. I feel you, though. When I am that annoyed, I storm out and make sure the door swings forcefully when I leave. I know it doesn't fix them, but it does get all that adrenaline outta me!

And, yeah, your boss is an for calling you a "filler girl". How demeaning. In his place, had I said that, after the customer was away, I would be all like "OMG I'm so sorry. I don't know why such stoopid came outta my mouth. Take an extra long lunch on me." But I'm, like, nice that way. Well, were I him, I don't think I'd have said what he said in the first place anyhow.

        I would laugh, too...

No kidding on the anger. Believe it or not, I went to Wal-Mart today and asked for a manager capable of handling an electronics department issue. I was met with resistance to fixing a problem.

Me: So.. can I talk to a manager, or someone who's over the electronics?
CSM: Oh, we only have one general manager.
Me: Okay, could I speak to the general manager?
CSM: He's only here on Mondays. So, you're a while late.
Me: Oh... well... could I leave a comment card, or is there REALLY no one over it at all?
CSM: Not really, we just kindof do what we do and go on with life.
Me: ...so I just have to come back, a week after the incident, and take it up then?
CSM: Sorry, but if it'll be a whole week he'll probably just ignore it.
        Me: .....=_=
CSM: Yeah, I know it stucks, but my job is sooo easy for it.

Wow, is walmart your only shopping option?

I would just shop somewhere else.

Happened to me this past weekend. I am currently looking for PA speakers and went to one of the local music stores. No greeting at all, no one on the floor. I looked around and the only guy I saw was at the front counter. I think there was one other in the side room. So I looked at the speakers and waited a bit. I even walked over to the counter area. No one seemed to even acknowledge my presence so I walked on out and will make sure none of my friends make purchases from there.
I feel crazy. Like I'm drunk and trapped in a water globe and someone won't stop shaking it.

There must be something about nurses and pizza... usually, the nurses at our hospital manage to place their order without much incident, unless you count being dumber than a refrgerator box full of rocks an incident.

What kills me is that, when they get to the part where they pay the driver (which has been me on several occasions), there is a jawdropping occurance. The nurses and doctors will all have given the person paying the money to cover their portion of the food plus a tip...upon hearing the total, the person paying gives the driver the correct amount, plus maybe a dollar or two extra, THEN POCKETS THE REST.

I have seen this exact scenario play out at least ten times myself (we deliver to various parts of the hospital several times a day), and it's always the same deal! And, I know now that it was the intention of the staff to give the driver ALL the money (at least in two instances, presumably all of them) because I had two separate doctors state over the phone that, "Your drivers must love us, what with the $20 or bigger tips they get when they come out here."

It's pretty despicable that nurses, who make far more than we do, feel the need to steal our tips.

that is total bull shit she just threw at you.

Every store has ! gm, but 1-2 co-managers, and 5-10 assistant managers. One of them should have been able to come meet with you regardless.

I would have said, "I'm sorry? We only ever get the exact total of the order and maybe $2 over that. I've never seen more than $3.00 in tips." It would be interesting to see what the doc had to say about that one.

I have four friend that work there, and story confirmed. They have one general manager, and one assistant manager for the mornings. I can only shop after 5p.m.

I also live in a very small town area. Wal-mart's literally half the cost of the only other store around here, and I can't afford them on my meager salary =/

Maybe, but I waited more than 10minutes asking n begging for help.

...make that few minutes update to HOURS. I spilled bacon all over my kitchen
A more appropriate response would have been to go find the store manager and complain about them - or writing to the store (copying corporate). Throwing things is tantamount to assault where I live, and you're lucky they didn't have you charged and banned from the store. No amount of bad customer service justifies assault.

Is there a reason you couldn't just speak and ask for assistance? I can't understand why people expect store staff to fawn all over them - personally, I prefer that they leave me alone until I need them, and as an employee, I've always hated having to approach people who don't want to be approached.

Hard to approach people that aren't there, let alone on the clock.

Above, I explained the manager situation.

I'm not sure how expecting to be greeted equates to expecting someone to fawn over you. Most places, it's policy to acknowledge someone who has entered the store or come to the counter. True, she should have spoken up, but she should not have been pretty much ignored, either.

I think you are all missing one important fact.

                            She HAD asked for assistance.

Me: Excuse me. .... excuse me! ............... Excuse ME!!
Decky and Guy looked at me, snorted, then turned back to each other to talk their frivolous talk.
Me: Umm.. Excuse me.. *reads nametags* Decky! Guy! Will one of you help me?
Decky cocked her eyes at me, snorted and turned away, still talking to Guy. Guy laughs. Oh hell no.
