  • EW about to get what's owed...

I didn’t deal with this directly but I heard what’s going on.

Tech went to a customer’s house for an install last evening. There was some issue with the wiring so the technician wasn’t able to finish part of the install, informing the customer they would have to contact an electrician and get some things repaired before we could provide her service. Customer got angry about it and demanded he finish the install.

Tech called us and was on the phone with one of my cow-irkers. The customer ordered him to hang up on ‘that b-tch’ and do her install. He told her he wasn’t going to hang up and that the install could not be done until the wiring was fixed. So she called her customer service rep and got in a screaming fit with her.

Because she was shouting, the tech stepped out on the porch to finish speaking with my cow-irker.

Customer hangs up with the CSR and storms out of her house, getting in her car and driving away. Tech is still on the porch and realizes she’s locked all of his tools and equipment inside the house.

Cue this morning. Several attempts to reach the customer and messages left indicating the tech will be back this morning to pick up his things. Tech returns and knocks…no answer. Calls her, no answer. Now, the kicker?

He can SEE her inside staring at him out of the window, watching him. So he calls her again and leaves her a message that she has one hour. He’ll be back at 10:00 and if his stuff isn’t out on her porch or she doesn’t allow him in to get it, he’ll be calling the police.

I mean seriously, she’s mad because he can’t do her install and so she holds thousands of dollars worth of tools and equipment hostage? Personally, I’m hoping she doesn’t let him in or put it on the porch, and we end up getting her arrested for theft of property.

Anyone wanna take any bets as to what will happen?

I am kind of hoping that she continues being a bitch & gets arrested. Hopefully it will make the news, so that it will possibly serve as a little warning to SCs everywhere. If you are a jerk, this may happen to you.

I second that. She seems the type that wouldn't realize yelling at the cops might not be the best course of action.
Excuse me, good sir paladin, can you direct me to your EVIL district?

Bleh. Disappointingly, she didn't get arrested. We didn't even get the cops on her. Tech went back with his supe and the supe called her again. Customer acted all innocent, said 'oh, I'm sorry, I just woke up', and let the supe in to pick up the equipment.

              Pity.

I hope the supe didn't begin with "I'm sorry to disturb you ma'm" in the suplicant tone of voice.

How.....anticlimatic. But I am glad your tech got his tools back.

Not only that, I was hoping the arrest would end up on an episode of Cops.

heh. and i bet that would make the neighbors gossip and turn on their police scanners to listen in.

at that point... it's too bad the company didn't tell her "we're refusing service"

o well, at least he has his gear... he did get ALL of it back yes?

Was her installation ever completed? Or did she get locked out of the computer? That's not fair for a customer to keep someone's tools hostage for revenge .... I'd hate to see her in a relationship .....

and that would be bad... how?

the SC in the OP is not a customer that company wants to keep... at this point there best bet is to keep her UNhappy so she never thinks to call them again.
