You may not like our rates which start at 119, but include (may or maynot be available at time of arrival) soup, apples, cookies, and a free breakfast buffet including a hot item that changes every day. Also we have a 24-hr pool/jacuzzi & exercise room. Also, a computer for business use avail 24 hrs a day.

We have continental breakfast in the morning, with waffles, cookies and fruit in the evening (the fruit though normally runs out well before I start), high speed wireless internet, 24 hr jacuzzi and fitness room, pool open 7-11 (summer only, it's outdoor). And of course also the lobby computer 24/7.
So Kiwi, stay here, not at Hippie's hotel Besides, Salt Lake is cooler than Montana (well, not literally of course, it's a lot colder in montana)

Actually I bet our weather is quite similar. This part of MT hasn't even dropped below 20F yet for the year. We've only had one major snow that lasted 3 days then melted away in one. Then, of course, some flurries. The mountains in MT are a whole different matter, though...

But, Smiley is prolly right, more to do in SLC. lol Not that Montana isn't nice & boring, but SLC is larger then the largest town here which is a whole 107,000ppl.

yup, if I may do the tourism plug...

if you like skiing we have the best snow on earth during the winter, during the summer we have great hiking all around us as well as the LagoonPark amusement park (the best fun the cheap coal powered electricity can provide ... it's like $35, they have 7 roller coasters, dozens of rides, a water park, and a recreated historic village), there is of course Temple Square open year round which has some of the most beautiful architecture in this time zone (the Assembly Hall is a must see for sheer "Oh My God, how did they do that"ness... it's cool, you walk in and you see a row of the most beautiful marble columns holding up the balcony... only thing is there is no marble in Utah and no way to import it... you go up and feel the column, IT'S MADE OF PINE and was hand painted to look exactly like marble. The conference center is a masterpiece of engineering, capacity for over 20k people and not a column in sight. Oh and I think I must say the most important draw for CS tourist, Fenrus, Nightwatch, Hawiian Shirts, AP007, and I live here (I know there are more, but they haven't been active recently, so )

There's some pretty good hunting up in the Uintas to the east of Salt Lake (or so I'm told, I don't hunt, one of my old roommates did though).

Yeah Utah and Montana would be pretty good elk hunting destinations. I'm pretty sure Montana has you beat for fishing though.

Just this past weekend I got to stay at a hotel that offered both a shuttle to and from the airport and cookies. If I hadn't been in Vegas I would have have looked for one of you two

While I personally attached the little paper cookie bag to my face and administered chocolate inhalation therapy (it was a *really* bad day) I did make sure to wait until I was done actually dealing with the desk clerk. My mother informed me it's not polite to talk with your mouth full when I was 3 and I never saw a reason to change that.

As for making the EW walk? Good Show! I'd award that a cookie, but you probably already have some.

Im way closer to SLC than Montana....

when K and I go away we usually pay $150 a night because we like a nicer hotel and one that has some kind of breakfast option as I am not driving all over dodge at the crack arse of dawn to find myself some decent joe!

But cookies and snow....holy bajolie I am SO there!
We actually have familyfriends in Kuna, Idaho so SLC isnt that far away from a visit from there.

Time for my plug? I don't need much...

Not 40 miles from this area are mountains and indeed a large ski resort in a place called Red Lodge. The drive is amazing! Just outside of Bozeman MT (about 3 miles from here) is a larger ski area called Big Sky.

For the History buffs: 40 miles away in another direction is the Little Bighorn Battlefield, famous for General Custer's horrible prideful blunder.

In the general area around here hunting, fishing, shooting, hiking, and anything outside-recreation is findable. There are also made Dude Ranches for those who like to try their hand at being "cowboys or cowgirls". There is also some rafting in some areas closer to the mountains. Camping areas are widely available, and about maybe half charge a small fee and the rest are free.

Here is this area, beside a sister hotel, there is a brand new all indoor water park.

For people who are more inclined to shop shop shop, there are a variety of local area stores and 2 main shopping malls here. Also, many unique local restaurants that are known to serve buffalo and rainbow trout, although the prices tend to go higher-end.

Also, in all of Montana, gambling is EVERYWHERE and not limited to the state's Reservations. Casinos littery nearly every bar or pub. BUT, it's not like Vegas or Reno. You can catch a live card game some places everyday, but it's only poker. Most casinos here only have video machines, but for some people that thrill is enough.

Montana also bosts many state and federal park accesses. Yellowstone Park is mostly in Wyoming, but there are many entrances into the park inside the Southern border of Montana. Our closest entrance (and by far one of the craziest drives because it's a winding road that leads directly up & over a mountain) is near the Red Lodge area about 40 miles away.

This state has an image of being rugged mostly and modern slightly. In all honestly, the more major towns have become very modern very quickly. The small towns have some ammenities and are the best places to go for a "hometown" feel.

And wow that was a weird brainstown. Smily is bringing out the worst in me!
