And this study came up with a place other than somewhere in Wisconsin as number 1?Quoth KhirasHY View PostSadly, earlier this year, Denver was noted as the "Most Dangerously Drunk City" in the entire US. Colorado Springs is rated the #3 city. This was done by noting detox stints, arrests, accidents, injuries, deaths, and other misc. incidents related to alcohol in relation to population.
Well, I for one am shocked.Knowledge is power. Power corrupts. Study hard. Be evil.

It's the altitude...the air is thinner here since we're a mile over sea level, so when people drink, it takes less alcohol to get you to where you're "beyond help". It's made worse by people who travel here and aren't used to it; they drink the same amount that they drink at home, but get twice as drunk as a direct result, which results in all sorts of problems.Quoth Shards View PostHold on a sec...
You guys beat out Detroit?!?
We also have a lot of very good breweries/micro-breweries in Denver, so the quality of beer is often both very good (much better than your average "Budweiser" type beer), and very strong (about 30-60% stronger than usual beers) before the altitude is taken into account. Now, this is great for those of us who can control our intake, but partiers really ruin it for us

"What IS fun to fight through?"
"Gardens. Electronics shops. Antique stores, but only if they're classy."
