Me: no sir that one does not

Guest: can we have one put in?

Me: no sir because the owner would have to pay for it

    Guest: thats ok with me

Me: yea but its not ok with the owner

Guest: well then I will have to have you people take messages for me

    Me: we dont do that

Guest: Ok then....how do I get wood for the fire place?

Me: the grocery store here sells it

Guest: ok but I need you all to deliver the wood to me

Me: we cant do that, sir

Guest: ok thats strike two, you're not impressing me here

    Me: sorry

Guest: well I will have to insist that you deliver the wood...I am down here on vacation

    (I talk to a manager)

Me: ok they did agree to deliver the wood. can we bill that to the card on file?

Guest: wait a minute, I am expected to pay for it?

Guest: I dont think thats very reasonable but fine I guess I will pay for it but I want you to know I am doing it against my will......speaking of the fireplace, what time do you come by to clean it out?

Me: we dont clean out the fireplace

Guest: so on my vacation, I have to clean out the fireplace?

    "Twit"?

That guy wants a 5 star hotel, not a condo or whatever he rented.

How about you try at 5 star, King Albert!!!! Clearly if he isn't willing to pay the money for everything then he isn't a wealthy guy & just trying to strike the attitude like he is.

Perhaps sir, you should go to http://www.theyulelog.com and place your laptop into the fireplace. This process means that there will be no clean up of the fire place needed.

I guess I'm too jsut too lower class, but I thought renting a vacation home was sort of a DIY vacation- You are responsible for everything, but you don't have to worry about people having loud sex in the next room, band trips, or other hotelnesses.

He sounds like a very demanding "guest."

DH and I rented a vacation log cabin in the Smoky Mts. a couple years ago and it was wonderful. Paid less than we would have staying in a hotel, and had so much more room and so many more amenities. Loved it.

Then, we rented a condo at Daytona Beach at "The Cove" and while it was all right, it wasn't quite what we had hoped for. We enjoyed having more room, but I had requested oceanfront, they gave us oceanview. I had requested a high floor, we were in the middle closer to the bottom floor. It would have been nice if they could have e-mailed us to let us know they were not going to be able to honor our requests.

Then, right in their "rules" book that was placed on the coffee table in the living room it said what the room came provided with: dish soap, paper towel, coffee packets, soap, tissues, etc. and if you ran out and needed more of any of those things, just ask the front desk. We stayed 4 nights and had 1 packet of coffee, so the second day I politely asked for more at the front desk. She just looked blankly at me and said "no." I said, "excuse me?" She said "no I can't give you more coffee, you can buy it at the store across the street."

They should change that in their "rules" book then if they aren't willing to give the customer more when asked.

So as I understand it, they're renting some sort of cheap cabin with wood heat, and they want to pay for a cheap cabin with wood heat, but they want 5-star butler service? Did they need someone to wipe their arse for them too while they're at it? What are they, Canadian? (I've found there's nothing so cheap as a Canadian senior. I should know, I live in "senior land" - Vancouver Island - in Canada.)

I'm trying to remember some stories from my customer service past to share, but I seem to have successfully blocked most of those horrible memories. Yay for booze!
