  • This is a library, not a grocery store

We have these black carts at the library. We use them to carry loads of books. I go looking for one on the third floor since it's not against the wall. I see this woman, who doesn't work her, using the cart for herself. She has a handbag and another bag on it.

Me: Hi. I need that cart.
SC: I'm just using it for a moment.
Me: That cart belongs to the library, it's not a shopping cart.
SC: Well I'm just using it for a moment! I see you want to use now, because I'm using it!
Me: Just put your bags on the table there.
SC: You be bothering me! Damn, can't go anywhere without you bothering me.

She finally got her stufff off the cart.

One of my co-workers was helping her at the moment, but didnt' say anything. She asked some co-workers answering phones, "Can the patrons use our carts?"
and they said, "no". My co-worker then came up to me and said, "it's unanimous, patrons can't use our cart."
Time! Time! Time is what turns kittens into cats.

Don't teach me a lesson; all I learn is that you are an asshole.

    I wish porn had subtitles.

Everything, no matter of obviously not for public use, is fair game to these people, unless it's chained down or put out of reach... and even then...

Even if it is bolted down, they just complain you didn't leave a bolt cutter for thier convenience in case they want to use it.

Reminds me of the people who get pissed at the wholesale club when we "run out" of shopping carts. They'll notice the cart-pusher that the cart guys use, which has a cart attached to it. Of course, they don't notice the pusher until they go to grab that "empty" cart.

Then some of them will come up to me and ask if they can use that cart.

J2K: "Sorry, no. It's attached to the cart-pusher."
SC: "Can you disconnect it so I can use it?"
J2K: "Not easily. It takes about fifteen minutes just to hook it up."
        SC: "I can wait."
J2K: "I also don't have the tools to do it."
        SC: *catbutt face*

Which story about a guitar shop is this?
If I dropped everybody who occasionally said something stupid from my list of potential partners, I wouldn’t even be able to masturbate

There is a copy of the guitar shop story buried in this thread on vandalism. Is the guitar shop story a war story?

                  I don't think so.
