Also, edible, the maximum is $300 a day, not $300 per transaction as far as I Know. So you can spend $100 at one place, $100 at another, $100 at another and that's it.
We've had people get around the $300 limit by taking out $300 then another $300. My account has a $1000 a day limit (that I've only come up against once, when paying for wedding related things)

Oh and for the people who keep calling me "male" I'm FEMALE! I have boobs

And my bank is a smaller one, my particular account is a student one, so I don't have to fork out $6 a month in addition to the thousand and one other fees. basically, I don't get charged for balance enquiries, transfers between accounts (as long as it's between 2 of my bank's accounts) and a couple of other things. I get charged $1.80 for EFTPOS transactions and $1.50 for withdrawals from an ATM. a lot of people circumvent the latter by getting cash out with their purchases. I used to get charged $2 per transaction for withdrawing from OTHER bank's ATM's, and ditto for live tellers. Now some law enables the owner of the ATM to charge a fee as well as the fee from your bank. There's an allowance of how many times you can do it for free and then afterwards you gotta cough up once a month. It's a pain but meh...means less junk food

OK, SC's, listen to me carefully.
            ...
For number 4, I live in the same state as OP and just a bit of background: if you use your own bank's ATM, there may be a small charge (usually about $1.50) but if you use another bank's ATM, you are charged about $2 for a balance inquiry and up to an extra $10 for withdrawals and this is shown on the screen.
            Thats just, not cool.

Here its free to use your own banks, and your bank will charge you if you use someone elses, usually like $2. The most I've seen an ATM charge is $4, and thats at the indian casinos. My bank has an account that wont charge you anything if you do a straight withdrawl from someone elses ATM, but if you do a balance inquiry you get charged. Of course the other bank charges you too. BoA is most expesive apparently.

              1. The limit is to prevent thieves from withdrawing thousands out at a time. Also, edible, the maximum is $300 a day, not $300 per transaction as far as I Know. So you can spend $100 at one place, $100 at another, $100 at another and that's it.
              2. The only places I've ever seen ATMs that take deposits are located on the side of their nearest bank branch.
              3. Have these people NOT heard of internet or phone banking?!
              4. People are stupid.

              1. Depends on the bank too, I have $1000 a day limit.
              2. I do believe you are right about that.
              3. I believe you answered that in 4
              4. Yes, yes thay are

As for up to $10 for withdrawls, who the frickin son of a crapping crap on a crapstick bastard is charging that?

              Prove it.

Also usually with banks charging to withdraw from their own ATMs, a lot of banks also have fee allowances so if you don't do heaps of withdrawls per month it doesn't cost you anything.

I'll be sticking to the evil BoA, thanks. sheesh. No ATM fees if you use a BoA bank's ATM.

I have NEVER heard of a place that charges their own customers for using their ATM's
Great American Federal (no longer in the Pittsburgh area) would charge people an ATM fee whether they used the ATM or not How they got away with that, I have no idea. Needless to say, when that first showed up on my account, I pulled my cash out, and told them to go fuck themselves. It was bad enough that the only GAF ATM in the 'burbs was a pain to get to, but I got dinged for that, and also if I used ATMs at other banks. Screw that. Apparently, quite a few other people felt the same way...and GAF eventually found itself in trouble. GAF itself got bought out by another bank in 2004. Good riddance.

This is why I love being a member of a credit union... I can quite literally deposit almost anywhere, including 7-11 fee free at the ATM
                        Same with withdrawals
