April Fools Day joke? This woman couldn't have been serious.

Talk about spineless management. This lady could use a vacation....on the couch of a therapist's office coupled with some meds.
A few nights on her back under a professional would do her a WORLD of good.

Yes, the above happened to me. Early Nineties. Random road trip at 2 in the morning with my friend His Majesty, a female friend of ours, and some chick we met at the gas station, from Phoenix to Laughlin, Nevada, to gamble and have eggs and beer at sunrise.

It was even better than I made it sound just now.
I miss the cheap casino food in Reno. Some of it's good, some of it's bad, but it's cheap and there's a lot of it. I like eating in places where I think I'll get a waitress named Dot or Ruby.

Better yet, don't pack a thing, spin a pen on a map, hop in your car with a friend and another friend who came along at the last minute, gas up, pick up a fourth person at the gas station who parks her jeep and comes along for the ride, and go off on your road trip.
Sounds like the road trip the hubs and I went on after I graduated high school. We got up every day, each picked out a place on the map, and flipped a coin to see where we'd go. Best four weeks of my life.

What KIND of grass and how often is the tree pruned???
Methinks that woman has been *smoking* some grass

Seriously though, I don't see why people get worked up over stupid things like that. I mean, call me crazy, but you're supposed to *relax* on vacations. When I take a trip, I don't mess around to get there. However, on the way back, I take it easy. Anyone who has read my LJ about the train trips knows this

Last September, I took a last-minute trip to Centralia, PA. There's not really much to see in Centralia...because the town no longer exists. It was largely abandoned and later bulldozed, because of the mine fire underneath. Still, you can see smoke wafting from under the damaged section of highway...as well as see for miles from the hill. I'd been curious about the area, even though I was up that way years ago. Back then, you couldn't get to Centralia from the south--the highway had been closed because of subsidence. But now, it wasn't too far from Scranton and I-80...so why not?

Most of my trips home are like that--unplanned, if I get lost, who cares, sort of thing.

I would have started laughing when the caller asked how often the tree was pruned. I'm sure every hotel/resort/whatever know the exact date when the landscaping crew mows the lawn, trims trees, etc.

I'm starting to get really irritated at how all of your customers call you by name and they ALWAYS use it when they are letting you know how displeased they are.

If I spent my entire life(or part of it) worrying about a path or a tree, I think I'd have more serious issues that no vacation could cure. The point of a vacation is to let loose, go with the flow. Not worry about a tree which at the slightest breeze could release a leaf and destroy your perfect vacation. Or fret over a path so you could spend hours deciding which shoes would let you walk most comforably on it. Dang!!

So basically Dave... what your manager really needs to do is create a Holodeck program... Then ship each holodeck to potential guests and let them try out the houses.

Just wait... someone will demand it!

Or at least a desk-top version of the hologram
with all seasons shown, day and night
and then they will ask why you can't create the snow in the summer for them...

That sounds like an awesome time. I always wish I had taken a year off after high school to travel - I would have had the time, the energy and the money to do something like this. And the pure randomness of this sort of trip really appeals to me.
