My aunt's ex-husband had a Porsche...it got washed out in the flooding in Houston several years ago...
What do you mean "the flooding"? It floods like 2/3 times a year out here. Unless you mean worse than usual? Like Tropical storm Allison?

She began to describe how awesome this series was by describing it as a drama that was, to quote “Like, you know sort of a sci-fi? It’s kind of like, Andromeda.”. Yes, Andromeda. So she’s hoping to star in a series of Youtube videos which are aspiring to the level of a TV show that decided to put Kevin Sorbo in space.
Kevin Sorbo is far more appealing in "Ancient" Greece and leather pants. And long hair. I refused to even try Andromeda when I saw he'd cut his hair.

But then, I preferred Ares anyway. Even in the alternate universe when he was the god of love.
Any day you're looking down at the dirt instead of up at the dirt is a good day.

It was the only thing he was appealing (in any meaning of the word) in...

Oh yes, because when someone/I mentions Sci Fi, the first thing that pops in my/their mind is Andromeda.

Although the fact she actually knew what Andromeda was, is quite impressive on her part. So there is a sliver of hope for her. But only a sliver.
So how hopeless am I, that the only Andromeda I know is Andromeda Strain by Michael Creighton?
Everything will be ok in the end. If it's not ok, it's not the end.

Don't worry, you're not hopeless. It was on the less watched channels here in the US, though Sci Fi picked it up around season 4 I think. Here's the Wikipedia entry for it: Andromeda.

It was ok....I guess. It would have been good if the acting hadn't been so stale....That's was it's biggest drawback IMHO.

you know i never really like Hercules that much, though some episodes like the few set in modern times or even the few that where made to make you think Kevin really was Hercules where funny.
I was however a Xena fan.
yes yes i know, kind of butch lesbian in to Xena gasp the horror never heard of that before have you.
i love it though. i love the storys i love Gabrielle i loved the fact they basically where making fun or the lesbian jokes the whole time...
                i love it.

                i miss xena.....

Somehow I doubt Princess Glitter Lip Gloss would get a part in a show that's even remotely as respectable as Andromeda... possibly maybe Androme-Whore, or Sex Trek, or even Star Whores.

However, the mention of Creter reminds me of this vision I once saw while at work. Tall, stick-thin, bleach blonde raver spikes, punk clothes, pants three sizes too small, wearing pony-bead jewellry, all the raver accoutrements, carrying a stuffed teddy-bear by one worn paw. Then I happened to catch a glimpse of his face. Thankfully, I have an iron stomach and extremely good facial control, because this guy HAD to have been pushing thirty if he was a day, but with a face that looked like boiled, leather that had been scrunched together as it dried, leaving it a lined mask. He had also been wearing a tiny child's backpack that I think may have actually been a Carebear at one point. *shudders*

                    Maybe it was Gerrold.

Take that for an obscure reference. Hats off to someone who gets it.

Aww crap, I'm flying to Orlando in a couple weeks, on Continental. But i do have a non stop flight from Jersey, so hopefully i'll be ok.
Once you leave MCO (Orlando International) and are going down 528 to get to Disney be sure to wave out your left window when you drive by the Orange Blossom Trail exit. I work not 150 feet from that exit and sadly will probably be there when you drive by. I work too much.

                        Non stop Continental flights FTW.

That's how I'd go back and forth between WI and NJ.

                        No complaints.

I suppose it depends on what you value in a tree. What are you looking to get out of your foliage? Do you want blooms in the spring? Color in the fall? Privacy without having to build a fence? Something that grows quickly? Do you want to sell the tree later? So many possibilities...

I've always wanted to take a sapling and shape it as it grows. I think it would be really cool to shape a fruit tree into a chair so you can sit and eat in your garden.

I need to settle down about trees or you people will think I'm a nutter...

And the tree chair idea does sound pretty neat
I used to be disgusted... Now I'm just amused

You don't have to be a butch lesbian to be into Xena. I myself am a huge fan, and fuck anyone who has a problem with that.

Yeah, I had a thing for Gabrielle, but the show was well-written, well-acted, and overall well done. You are not the only one that misses the show.
