    Me= My father? We are both talking about {insert Dad's name}
    SC= Is it true about what he did to the principal of the high school?
    Me= Did you want to pay by debit, cash, or credit?
    I bet there's a story behind this and I want to hear it!

      So what did Daddy do to the High School Principal?
      Well since you and Irv want to know so badly.

      When I was in grade 8 and my brother was in grade 10, a young man in my grade made a few comments suggesting my brother and I were more close than two siblings should be. This led to him suggesting incest. My brother told my dad.

      This got Dad riled, and he went in and yelled at the kid. I mean stalked the kid through the cafeteria and got the kid verbally pinned to a wall. Dad never touched the kid, but the guy backed himself against the wall. So Dad yelled at the kid for a moment, then left.

      Later that week he gets a call from the principal of my brother's high school. He's in trouble again. Now my dad's a really respectful and calm guy, but he's been called in a lot for my brother and he's had a rough week what with the incident with the punk at my school. Now my dad's the kind of guy to take off his hat when he walks into a building, but he was in a rush so he didn't have time to take it off before rushing into the principal's office. The secretary announces his arrival and he goes to the door. He knocks, then opens the door and the principal's first words are "We don't wear hats in this school."

      Well that's the last straw. See my dad used to get called in a lot for my brother. Bro's a big dude, in height and weight. He's pretty intimidating. However, he is a teddy bear for the most part. Also he used to get bullied when he was smaller. He was still getting bullied. At one point a bunch of boys ganged up on him and gave him so nice soccer kicks in the gut and back after knocking him down. Furthermore, the kid who usually complains about my brother was a jerk who at one point broke the graphite of a pencil off in my brother's arm. The principal ignored all of this. However, he came down hard on my brother for every inch out of line the boy may have gone. Real or imaginary.

      Anyway Dad starts speaking in clipped ice cold words. He doesn't yell, but he is angry. He asks what the issue is, and the principal explains there was a complaint from a Teacher; Mrs. Hateful.

      Now Mrs. Hateful once suggested to my father that she wanted to have my brother expelled.
      Dad= Is he distracting the other students?
      MH= No
      Dad= Not doing his work
      MH= No he always completes it
      Dad= Doing badly on tests
      MH= He's doing fine academically.
      Dad= Oh, so he's being disrespectful to you, is he?
      MH= Oh no, he's quiet and hardworking.
      Dad= So he's a good student who doesn't cause problems and you want him expelled?
      MH= Your son just gives off a vibe. He should be removed from the school.
      My dad walked out of that parent/teacher conference.

      Anyway, back to the principal's office. The principal mentions that Mrs. Hateful had an issue with my brother again. Now this is what brought on the rage. The next thing anyone knows my father is listing every instance of physical, mental, or emotional abuse that my brother had received thus far at the school, including the expulsion threat.

      The principal was dumbfounded by this, since my dad usually took all of this stuff rather calmly. Dad told the Principal "If you don't treat my kid better, I will sue this school."

      The legend told by people involves threats of physical violence, and maybe dad trashing the guys truck. It's all pretty out there really, but my dad was kind of a wild one in his 20's and 30's. So I guess maybe that's where is comes from.

      The thing that makes me sad is that the principal did treat my dad's kid nicely. However, that was me. My brother didn't have it as bad afterward, but I could break almost any school rule and not get in trouble. Totally unfair.
