Was the candy put back on the shelf for sale?

Our store will refund full price for food items (with receipt) but the item must then be tossed. I don't know if it's a state law or not but we can't put any returned food items back on the shelf.

I'm actually not sure what happened to it, I haven't seen it since. I'm going to assume placed back on the shelf and later sold because sometimes, my coworkers are idiots.
