  • You Ran My Credit?!?!

Yes sir. Yes I did put through your application for a store credit account.

Maybe your clue was when i asked you if you'd like to open a store credit account?

Maybe the clue was when you entered in your social security number?

Maybe you should have suspected when you entered in your annual income?

Perhaps telling me whether or not you own or rented your home wasn't just for kicks?

And that paragraph about agreeing to the terms of the card and signing at the "X"? Yep, another clue.

I'm sorry you're too much of a dumb a** to realize when you're applying for a credit card.

We don't have in-house credit cards, but I get this a lot with debit cards. "What do you mean? You have to pull my credit for a debit card?" "Yes, it's just as easy to overdraw your checking account using a debit card as it is with checks." I've gotten into the habit of telling the customer that we pull credit on all debit card applications when the customer hands me the app, even though it says right there, right above where they sign. Because if I don't, I get complaints of "You didn't tell me you had to pull my credit!"

Not a bad prospect. I am not afraid. In the meantime, let me close my eyes and sense the beauty around me. And take that breath under the dark sky full of stars. Breathe in. Breathe out. That's all."

I don't think Ghel meant they run it for purchases... But if somebody applies for a debit card through their bank. If you overdraw your debit account, having good credit means better overdraft protection.

Now I'm confused. Oh, you mean protection from overdrawing your account. You see, we have a product called "overdraft protection" that's basically a line of credit tied to your checking account and gets automatically advanced if you would otherwise overdraw your checking account.

We have to pull credit if somebody applies for overdraft protection, too. But, yeah, I meant when somebody applies for a debit card.

I think we're on the same brain wave Ghel, I just combined the "getting a debit card" and "getting overdraft protection". You just ignore me now, mmkay?

What I am assuming the poster meant was they work for a banking institute that gives debit cards but they check your credit if you are applying for one.

I also deal with store credit cards where I work.

Some people think that they are signing up for some type of store card that gives them discounts even though I say to them "Would you like to APPLY for a store credit card."

Sometimes when it is not approved they get mad and demand that I cancel their application for the card Uhhh to late I already ran your credit.

I absolutely hate having to ask for store credit cards but my store is one of those places that expects you to process a certain number of apps a shift/week/month.
