Yesterday we had two guys who came up to the registers with a case of beer the first register is the only one that was open and I was standing next to the second one talking to my manager. They came up to the second register and demanded we open it. My manager say to do it and they got these really smug looks on their faces until I walked over to the other line and asked the second person there if they wanted to move to my register and they said yes. They got a really ticked off look on their faces and moved back to the first register while complaining about how rude I was.

I really love this story. You were giving the folks in line 1 great customer service by acknowledging and helping those who had been waiting the longest.
The formerly-smug bastards couldn't even complain to the manager because you were doing what you were told and the manager was right there.
They couldn't even turn to other customers for sympathy after blatently trying to cut in front of them.
The best karma is letting a jerk bash himself senseless on the wall of your polite indifference.
The stupid is strong with this one.
