Haha, VRS, I totally agree with that statement. I have yet to see a stereotypical soccer mom go off-roading in the wild tundra of Wisconsin deer hunting with her Ford Expedition.
Most "off road" vehicles I see around here are using the term "off road" the wrong way. "Off road" doesn't mean you can hop all the medians and islands in the Wal-Mart parking lots!

I have wondered (and still do) how you have refrained from strangling any of these customers. I'm also amazed that you didn't argue with her. I want to argue with her and I wasn't there. Does she really think that you have information on every rental/vacation property down to the very bedding type, color of the shower curtains, and designs on the dishes in the kitchen? Would she refuse to stay in a beautiful beach front property merely because it didn't feature Hello Kitty bed spreads for her pweschious wittle SC-in-training?

"soccer moms" typically drive Volvos like you mentioned as well as any vehicle with off road capability even though they obviously dont need it (i.e. Expedition, Tahoe, Yukon, Hummer, Durango) and of course minivans of any kind although Dodge Caravans and Chrysler Town and Country seem to be a favorite of soccer moms. Every summer on a Saturday, our parking lot is jam packed with these big ass vehicles and many of them will have like 7 or 8 bikes strapped to the back They just buy these vehicles as a status symbol.

Well madam, once you've satisfied yourself by answering these questions, let me know, and I'll get the builders working on those two detachable bedrooms for your ideal property.
It'll be ready in May, June or July.

And your point is?!Quoth vacation_rentals_suck View PostGuest: it sounds to me like you're just throwing out random properties without knowing or caring if I would like them
Well, why didn't she say so in the first place?!Quoth vacation_rentals_suck View PostGuest: you havent even gathered enough information from me to recommend a property, you are supposed to ask how many children I have and there ages so you can determine the appropriate bedding and you havent even asked what I look for in terms of decor....(and she went on lecturing me about the questions I am supposed to be asking her)...

I think the bedding may have been around whether a cot was needed, but i could be wrong.Quoth bammertheblue View PostWait, so in her mind "appropriate bedding" for her kids was an issue that needed to be resolved before when she was vacationing, where she would stay, or how much she wanted to pay?
I know that's how I always plan my trips. Around bedding. It's all about the sheets! Nothing else matters!
Why would you be so worried about the type of place and not have very many speceifcs to give you, ie what dates and how many rooms needed. I'm guessing there would be a LOT of options when given the info that you were. I think I would have started listing every single property so that they got the idea...
