Due to the number of reserved spots & the fact that today is the first day of summer school, the garage had to be reserved at one point today, but the software that changes to open sign to full is not working. Oh joy.
Sucky male customer *not sucky yet, but he will be*: "I'm here to go to International admissions, & I wonder if you could help me."
me: "I'm sorry, I understand you are going to International admissions, & if I could help you I would. Unfortunately even though the open sign is one, the garage is reserved, & I cannot allow anyone to park in the garage. I'm sorry, but unfortunately I cannot help anyone today."
Sucky male customer: "So where do I park?"
I give him several options.
Sucky male customer: "So I cannot park even though I will pay the $5.00?"
me: "I'm sorry, I understand that. Unfortunately according to dept. regulations, I cannot allow anyone to park."
Sucky male customer's female passenger: "So why can we not park?"
me: "I'm sorry, but because the garage is reserved, I do not have any parking spots for anyone else."
Sucky male customer: "But there is a sign stating visitor parking is $5.00, & I want to park. Why can't I pay the $5.00?"
me: "I'm sorry, but I am not a manager, & so I cannot override management decisions for anyone."
Sucky male customer: "So why is there a sign stating visitor parking is $5.00?"
me: "I'm sorry, but you will have to ask the parking office about that"
Sucky male customer glares at me & says "that sucks".
He backs up.
