ditto I never understood those people - what did they want me to do? give them a ride? In the time it took to call and bitch at me several states away they could have called a cab and been at the airport already getting their ass on a standby list.

Actually, air travel has sort of morphed into bus travel in the sky over the last thirty years. It's not what it once was.

My mom tells me I was born a few decades too late...sometimes I swear I'm the only person on the planet who at least tries to look decent when traveling (not dressed super-nice, but not looking like I just rolled out of bed either).

Or they'll call and drive Gravekeeper to drinking because the hotel won't take their vouchers/they can't find the nearest bar/can't find a taxi to take them to a bar/etc.

And if you miss a flight you may not be able to say get a direct flight until many hours later or the next day but their is a 99.9 percent chance you will still be able to get their via a connecting flight from some other city. Also you are in a clean climate controlled airport not some bus terminal or train station which may be little more than a platform.

or because they never actually got vouchers because they were too tired to wait in the line at the airport and the mean desk clerk isn't just trusting them that they were on the delayed flight and won't just give them the room and bill it to Delta on their word that they would have gotten vouchers had they stayed in line (I really wish I was making that up... that was part of the nice little clusterfuck that Delta dumped on us last night).

...that was part of the nice little clusterfuck that Delta dumped on us last night.

I know that as a hotel employee you are not overly fond of Delta, but I have to say that on my recent vacation to Phoenix and Salt Lake (including, as you know, your hotel), I had a total of five flights with Delta, and quite honestly, it was my best flight experience pretty much ever. Which matched up well with the vacation being perhaps my best ever. But even if the vacay had not rocked, Delta really did rock it for me, on all three legs of my journey, and all five flights.

Far different than my trip to Vegas in '06 with America West/US Air, my worst flight experience ever.

Pepper, well I had traveled with AWA prior to the merger, and they were fine, though I had never traved with USAir.

That being said, not only was Delta superior to that experience, they were superior to every flight experience I had had prior, with the possible exception of the one time I missed a connection with Continental and they put me on a TWA flight....that was nice.

Yeah, America West wasn't too bad. USAir has always sucked, but after the merger (or buyout, whatever) it got truly heinous.
