For some reason, when a child that should know better screams, it irritates me. BUT if an infant/baby does it, even if it's really loud and high pitched, it doesn't bother me at all.

It's precisely because the older kid does know better, but the infant doesn't. We're more leniant towards babies, who only cry when they're hungry, dirty or tired, and not for the hell of it.

i just use complimenting the kids as a sales tactic. Parents love it when they think you're in love with their kids. Then they feel bad saying no to you. So then its time to sell lots of extra junk to them.
