It's pretty much guaranteed that any "food" shown in a commercial or other form of advertisement is fake unless you see someone actually putting it into their mouths. Studio lights get really hot, really fast. Those things are EXPENSIVE, too >_>

I seem to recall there is a huge industry in Japan dedicated to producing plastic dispaly foods.
Yes, yes there is- it looks disturbingly real too! Unfortunately, like most everything else in Japan, it's expensive. It's actually more expensive to buy plastic replicas of food than it is to buy the actual food...
But, the displays that the local restaurants put out are AMAZING!

Okay, this just cracks me up. How the hell do you manage to drink an entire pitcher of colored water? How do you not notice that it tastes like ass?

Loved that "Here's your 10th of a pint!"; that was pure gold!

While I obviously do not advocate harm to anyone, I seem to remember there being a quote on bash and other places about 'just take the warning labels off of everything and let natural selection sort it all out'.

I wonder if he's been banned from every pub in town and only comes back to yours because you haven't banned him yet.

what piece of fiction is it where someone is quoted something about 'shooting all the lawyers first'?

Starbucks has that on the sign in front of the breakfast sandwiches in their case. And they're not even accessible to the customers (then again, maybe they're just to assure people that the sandwich they get won't look like it's been sitting around for the last few hours...).

My good friend (whose mother is my psychiatrist) Curtis's father works for a printing company. He printed out "Certificates of Fail" to the players who behaved in the most ridiculous manner, in and out of game.

I think I'll tell you about those people sometimes.

Ugh, what a complete lunatic. I guess the heroin has messed up his brain by now?

I want to punch people like him who want signs on every stupid thing protecting them from themselves. Do you know, it says "Do not use while sleeping" on my hair dryer? Another pub might have agreed with him and put a sign out. You might as well put a sign out saying, "Please don't be a f***ng idiot! Thanks, management."
I saw a warning label on a portable CD player that said, "Do not use as a projectile in a catapult".

                          YES, SOMEONE DID THAT!

But nah don't worry people won't read signs anyways. I've had to tell people we didn't take $50s when the sign saying we don't was right in front of them.

The local Subway has a display sub out....a plastic one. But unlike the Japanese ones described earlier, this one is clearly and obviously plastic, and I think that that is a good idea.....because otherwise some yahoo would undoubtedly try to eat it. Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if some knucklehead has tried to eat the obviously fake one, come to think of it!

By the way, the pitcher of water with food coloring should not have gotten Death sick, considering the only things in it were water and, well, food coloring, which is perfectly edible and, as far as I know, not perishable. Still doesn't make him any less a dumbass, though.

I wouldn't think so either, unless it was an open-topped pitcher and some dust or other debris had fallen in.

Well, if it was there long enough, it may have built up various bacteria that thrives in stagnant water. Any good scout can tell you drinking old water unfiltered and unboiled is just asking for repeated trips to the loo. Or worse.
