So is my dad; he has a fancy outdoor propane rig at home but can grill perfectly fine on an iron rack over a firepit (which, ultimately, is all a grill is really). The only "grilling standards" we have is that it's a) not raw or underdone and b) not completely charred.

Usually when we get a rental house on the beach in Florida for vacation they cost a hair under a thousand.

I don't. Outerbanks and Myrtle Beach are expensive towns. I've stayed in a beachfront house in outerbanks a few years ago and that wasn't that big and fairly old and it was expensive. The monster sized houses on the beach that have 10+ bedrooms easily rent for $10.000+

Concur with the others - an avid griller should be able to grill on anything, especially a brand new grill, and VRS should send the personal physical threat along to the cop-shop.
