I usually get those customers who tell me to smile! I tend to get that serious face on me when I am focusing and they think I am angry.
      I get the same thing.
There is an employee of my client who always tries to get me to smile.
I tell her I can't, that it cramps. lol

I also get asked why I am mad sometimes.
I rarely get mad. Its just not something I can do.
The sad thing is even my own mother sometimes thinks I'm mad when I'm not.
I am not big on visible emotions and body language as a whole.

When I was a cashier I spent a whole shift being over the top nice and smiling to everybody for the sole purpose of creeping people out.

I was infamous with the staff in my last store for rarely smiling, mainly due to stress. So one day I'm walking down an aisle with a huge cheesey grin on my face.

CW: "What are you do happy about?"
Me: "I had such a good time last night. I woke up this morning and my armpits were covered in chocolate."

Cue CW curl up on the floor with tears of laughter running down her face.

The customers seriously hated the fact we were cheerful!
of course-they hate their(probably college degree requiring) jobs-so they don't want to be reminded that someone doing what is in their eyes "a menial job" is happy.
Honestly.... the image of that in my head made me go "AWESOME!"..... and then I remembered I am terribly strange.-Red dazes

I get that sometimes. I've gotten cussed out for being 'too cheerful" ROLFMAO! I told one of the complainers that I saw no reason to let their bad mood spoil my good time.

I used to get the accusing "You're cheerful today" all the time. I used to say to them that there's no point in not being. It makes the day flow that much better.

I sometimes get the "you look too happy" type comments. When people ask why I'm smiling, I just tell them it's because I'm lazy. It takes twice as many muscles to frown as it does to smile.
