"Oh, so you're looking for a job yourself then?"

I can't come up with anything better than that. Good one!

I agree...people out there are getting nastier and more demanding.

And people wonder why I like cats.

When I was working in a call centre a SC on a call I took over once opened up the conversation with the promising line "do any of your staff have any GCSEs" (famously easy UK exams for 16-year-olds). I replied "Well I can't speak for anyone else but for what it's worth I have ten. I also have four A-levels and am studying for a degree at Oxford."

Which actually shut him up, incredibly.

Yeah we've been having some really nasty people lately. It's also been really busy. Our sales have actually gone up since last year and our customer count has too, and yet they still are cutting hours on the front end. So of course the lines are getting longer and everyone is getting more frustrated. And the corporate BS just keeps getting worse and worse. sigh. I want out but there's no ware else to go. Getting a job outside of the service industry is really hard right now. And my family wonders why I rarely leave the house these days.

Then the second person was someone who couldn't read the coupon. I honesly don't blame how people can misread the coupon because about half of them are occupied by the actual discount or whatever that you get and the "Small print" is maybe size 2 font that not everyone can read without a microscope. Except that this guy was just being rude about it...

SC: "But I have a coupon! it says 'Free Sub!'"
Manager: "But you have to buy another sub of equal or lesser value and a 32 oz drink."
              SC: "Free sub!"
Manager: "With another sub and a 32 oz drink."
SC: "Can't you read the coupon?"
              Manager: "Yes."
              SC: "It says, FREE. SUB."

And he was basically talking like she didn't understand english so she had enough and told him to shove it. (not literally)

Then the third person...I'm surprised that she just booted her from the store instead of letting us boot her ass out of the store. She literally said TO THE MANAGER'S FACE:

"Wow, it's a good thing you gave these retards a place to work".

Beyond any form of reasonable doubt whatsoever, that was the RUDEST and most ignorant thing EVER. First off...every single one of the workers except the manager is a college student. Second of...we could hear her. And yes, everyone, even teh customers jawdropped.

Wow, that's just incredibly rude! I'm glad your manager tossed that SC on her ass, but too bad she couldn't toss her in the afterwards. What a bitch.

If there's one thing I hate just as much as people that like to argue with me and is assholes like the coupon SC that talk down to me like I don't know what I'm doing. How about this Mr. Coupon SC: READ THE SMALL PRINT, DUMBASS!!!!
