I do phone/tech support for a specialized company, so I work pretty much only with our members to help them. One of the features that we have is that if someone sees a listing on our system that they think has incorrect information, they can use the "report incorrect data" button at the top. Of course you KNOW that this is abused by click-happy EWs.

Once of my jobs is to go through these problems and correct them, and close them out. When they're closed, they send a notification to the reporting member telling them know the resolution. So last Wednesday, I closed one out where the member had reported that someone had listed information that wasn't allowed in the public remarks section. So I pull up the listing, and everything in the public remarks is allowed... nothing bad at all. So I close it out, stating that what she THOUGHT was the issue isn't, that the wording is allowed.

The reporting member replies back to my email, angry, insisting that I'm wrong. But before I can even reply back to her, she ALSO sends an email to our main support email address asking the same question, obviously trying to get a different answer.

Guess who was in charge of answering support emails on that day?

Ahh yes, seeking a second opinion.

I had a guy who made at ticket basically wanting to rip us off in a not-so-clever way. I dealt with his ticket. I said no.

He then called. I answered the phone. He pled his case again. I said no.

Then a few days later he made another tick. Guess who got to say no again?

And the real kicker is, he called one last time, trying to get someone else. I answered the phone and oh hey, its you again.

The wanna-be scammer was shocked, wondered if anyone else even worked there, I told him the entire tech support department is me. He cursed a few times, then hung up the phone.

I love it when people call after 6pm on Mondays or Tuesdays, or on Sunday... you know, when I'm the ONLY person working. I've had people call back, get me again, hang up, call back again, wash rinse & repeat... and finally go "Isn't there anyone else I can speak with???" Nope! Not until tomorrow morning! Sorry! (Not!)
