Guest: (he had a middle eastern accent) Dave, I am calling because the people come and they take my bikes. I order them for two days Wednesday to Friday.

Me: ok well I can have the bikes redelivered but you will have to pay for today

Guest: no I dont pay for today because on Wednesday they dont bring me the bikes when I want them. They make me wait until 3 PM. I will not pay for that day. I want the bikes at 10 AM and they dont deliver them until 3 so that will not count as a day

Me: you got the bikes that day though

Guest: sirs, you dont listen when I tell you......I get the bikes not until the afternoon.

Me: you have to pay for that day though

Guest: sirs, you are very disrespectful to tell me that because I am your customer and you need to show me respect and not argue with me

Me: I'm not arguing with you

Guest: then you will agree that I dont pay for Wednesday

Me: no sir, you got your bikes wednesday

Guest: sirs, you make me very angry....you are disrespectful, very, very, and very disrespectful. I am your customer and I tell you I dont pay for the bikes for that day because I dont get them on time

Me: and I'm telling you that you....


Guest: no you dont tell me anything......I tell you, and you will shut your mouth because I am your customer and that is how it will be......I have had enough of your disrespect....you dont listen to anything I say....you show no respect to the customer and I want your name because I will report this to the owner of your establishment... ach bach ma sa mi sa fu la do re mi fa so la ti do(unintelligible...I think he was cussing me out in his native language...whatever that happened to be, probably arabic)

Mind you it appears you get all the ignorant people from the States as over here in the UK all the Americans I have come into contact with have been really nice people.

I probably would have just fobbed him off on the bike rental company in that case. Though I doubt he'd go quietly.

I hate to say it, but the guy does have a point. If he was given a delivery time and they didn't show up until five hours later, I can understand why he doesn't think he should have to pay full price. At least a discount for that day would have been fair. He didn't have to be an ass about it. And not giving in to every demand is not "disrespectful"
