OK, I don't know why I'm remembering these all the sudden, it's been 3 years since I had that job. Anyway, a few that I recall.
perhaps listening helps
OK, nearly every single lot I patrolled was either free with a time limit (ie- parking for Burger King customers only, half hour time limit or parking for Albertsons customers only, 2 hour time limit, etc) or pay in advance for the time you needed (like meters, except longer term). Now, when you are parking and I am checking the lot and I inform you that it is a paid parking lot, if you don't pay for the parking up front I will give you a ticket, the correct response is NOT "OK, I'll pay when I leave"
Also, please do not be surprised when after I have told you that if you don't pay in advance that I will give you a ticket that I actually *gasp* give you a ticket... and yelling at me that you had every intention of paying does not sway me when you passed 3 signs and I told you what would happen.
your stupidity is not my fault
This was at the Burger King lot and happened quite often. Yelling at me that there should be more warning given that you couldn't park there and go to the library... don't mind the sign at each entrance and about every 15 feet along the perimeter stating that the parking is for Burger King parking only, half hour time limit, park and walk will result in ticket... nope, we didn't give warning at all.
yes, we do press charges
this guy is the reason I quit. yes, I know getting a parking ticket sucks, but there is an easy way to avoid this... read signs to know if you are parking where you are supposed to and pay for your parking. So, attempting to kill the enforcement agent by hitting him with your car (I was able to dodge and only got glanced by the mirror) is a good way to wind up with charges being pressed... oh, I bet that guy was surprised when the cops showed up at his door... that's the other thing, how stupid do you have to be to try to hit someone with a car that just got a parking ticket which means that we have all your information on file... idiots.
