*I don't think this woman was purposely trying to be sucky, she'd just had bad timing and didn't seem aware that I had other things to do besides take care of her request*

To give a few background details - a children's performing arts group rents the church's meeting hall several times a year for rehearsal usage, and they'd recently held auditions here for an upcoming play. Also, Wednesday mornings are when the pastor has "worship time" with the preschool, which means it's just me in the office, and I can't leave things unattended.

I was in the middle of dealing with a VERY frustrating printer situation, when I get a call from "Miss Bottle". Apparently she'd been at the play auditions, had left a water bottle behind (I didn't understand her description, it was some brand that I'd never heard of), and wanted to know if it had been turned into the office. I told her that it hadn't, and that's when things got kind of sucky, as "Miss Bottle" wanted me to go over to the Meeting Hall and look for it. Granted, she did apologize for bothering me and said she realized we were busy, but I honestly did NOT have time to go on a hunt for anything......the printer issue needed to be fixed ASAP, I was expecting someone to stop by the office with committee-related materials, the key I have does not go to the Meeting Hall, and someone forgot to return the spare copies of that key....so I couldn't get in even if I'd wanted to.

Anyhow, I did take "Miss Bottle's" name and number, and told her I'd get back to her as soon as I had a chance to. She'd wanted me to call her back within a certain time period, but that wasn't possible.....turned out that I wasn't able to get my printer working before I had to leave, and it was more of a priority to focus on a temporary work-around so that I'd be able to get things done for this upcoming Sunday's bulletin.

In the meantime, I do have to wonder if "Miss Bottle" called the church office after I'd left......and if I recall correctly, that performing arts group had held their auditions last week, so I have to wonder why she waited until now to call.

Over a water bottle!? Please tell me it was one of those expensive stainless "eco" bottles and not a cheap disposable plastic one.

From what I can recall of how she'd described it, yeah I'd say it was one of the more expensive ones. Wasn't something I was familiar with though, so describing it wouldn't have helped much even if I'd have the time to go look for it.

I have a sigg water bottle. I would never buy it myself because it's so expensive. I performed in the pit for our opera last semester, it was a small pit, with only 10 of us. They used dry ice and it always floated down into our area and caused coughing bouts and dry throats, but it was a cool effect. The singers went out and bought us some of those water bottles. Most of the group just got plain white ones, but I got a really pretty one with music notes and birds and stuff. I love it.

Now that I think about it, it WAS a sigg water bottle that this lady was refrring to. Turns out that she did call again right when office hours had ended, so I told her that I'd not forgotten about it, but that I'd not had time to go over to the Meeting Hall and check to see if it was there. Also, that I was about to leave for the day, but that I'd have the pastor go over and check/get back to her. To which "Miss Bottle" was agreeable......and seemed much more understanding about things having been busy.

ebay, $30 gets you an awesome one. ^_^ I have one of the 1 ltr ones and I love it to pieces, wouldn't trade it for ANYTHING. I love spending $15 every 6 months for my Brita filters when they go on sale versus $14 a WEEK to buy bottled water in the 1ltr size. My only gripe is that they dent so easily. Only had it 10 ish months and it looks like it's been a war zone.

The best part about the Sigg bottles is that they're tough as nails. I had one get run over by a tractor-mounted lawnmower once (oops) and the impact of the blades (at 720 RPM, per 3-foot blade) didn't even manage to penetrate the outer skin of the bottle, even though it did get dented up something ferocious.

I bought a cheapy aluminum water bottle from the swamp a couple weeks ago. It's smaller--about 20 ounces or so. It's good enough for my use and does a better job of keeping my water cold than my old Nalgene plastic bottle.

                  Sigg has some cool designs.

We carry some of those aluminum bottles at B&N; not Sigg but I've contemplated getting one. I hate the plastic flavor my bottles tend to impart.

We sell Sigg at work. They can take a SERIOUS beating and wind up looking like they'd been through a minor hail storm.

I just can't justify shelling out $20 for one. That said, I did pick up a 50 cent one at Walgreens (yes, 50c) and it leaves a HORRIBLE taste in the water. I usually wind up grabbing a single bottle of water from the drink cooler and refilling it through the day instead.
