- I think the various people from histroy would have preferred the TARDIS, no being smushed up against the glass because there was so little space. (Though I can completely see the TARDIS being fixed with chewing gum if necessary).

It usually also contained a first aid kit. An police stations could send a signal to activate the light, so passing policemen would know to contact the station.
