  • They should go by our time!

Greetings to all, been a while since ive posted anything at all lol (comments aside)

I do tech support for a nice All in one type service company (TV, Internet, and Phone) they kinda have the motto: something delivered... anyway

Call comes in today from Tier 1 agent to Tier2 (go me!) with the customer demanding T2 US side (remember that) usual call she hates outsourced tech support but her primary complaint was a call she had last night about her services

    CU: customer
    ME: well... duh..

CU: so the reason I called back this morning is because it was like midnight here and when I called for support I heard what sounded like a party at the center in the Philippines don't they know its midnight outside, whats wrong with these people? acting like its mid day or something?! They need to learn to be quiet when people are sleeping...
ME: ....uh actually there is a 15 hour time difference its actually about 3PM there when you called last night, and I believe they were having a raffle for end of the quarter, tho I am sorry they were loud nothing I could do to change that..
CU: o.....ok...well they need to follow OUR time not THEIR time and be quiet when its late over here!
ME: oo..kkk anyway, how could I provide excellent customer service today

follow the normal, loony call an issue that was easily fixed and cu off my phone, tho she did call back later and ask for me, and says she wont speak to anyone else ever gain. oi!

lets hear it for the first call of the day.. if they are all like this today i might take up smoking lol.
Crono: sounds like the machine update became a clusterf*ck..
pedersen: No. A clusterf*ck involves at least one pleasurable thing (the orgasm at the end).

I agree. And for that matter, why can't people in other countries just speak English man? God, how stupid can you be to not speak the same language as we do?

And what's with this currency exchange crap? Doesn't everyone use American dollars like a good pure white Christian should?

I tell you, next thing you know we'll have a black president in the white house and then we'll all go to hell in a handbasket.

More to the point was the issue so pressing that she needed to call at midnight?
How was I supposed to know someone was slipping you Birth Control in the food I've been making for you lately?

Why does it matter how loud people in other countries are?

Aw, c'mon now. Service Industry peons shouldn't actually enjoy their work, should they?

Let's all just be on the same time. It'd be awesome. Who gets to pick which time zone becomes default world time? Can't just pick GMT that's too easy.

I think that hearing the goings on in the office might be a legit, if not...uh...picky and stupid...complaint. They shouldn't have been having the commotion so that the customers could hear it. Or something. Hell if I know.

So long as I can actually hear and understand my tech support person, I don't care what goes on in the background. heh

Coulda told her they're that loud because they're about to be hit by a hurricane, but then on second thought I dont think that'd shut her up.

As far as loud goings on in the office...that customer would have a point.

At my job, they have bells thoughout the sales floor. When one makes so many sales, they ring the bell, and people applaud and cheer. More than once, I've had customers comment. And I've been asked how I could work with such a ruckus.

My response, and not at all facetious..."Years of practice."

And the same ruckus happens during contests and such.

I can understand motivation, but it sounds like a boiler room, and not at all professional.

It could be worse...they could be playing Marilyn Manson songs.

Oh God, you're selling Filthy Filters

... I know... no one outside of Utah would get that joke.

a sale, a sale, we got another sale. Huhah!

I'm confused... She called them, meaning she is up at midnight, and not sleeping. Unless she's on speakerphone with people trying to sleep, how is a noisy centre going to affect someone? Does she think it goes 'house, house, glass walled call centre, house, house'?

I agree and disagree, if this is a normal everyday occurrence -- oh wait it used to be an everyday normal occurence where I work. Working at a call center sucks, granted techo support is a little different than loan servicing, but still.

People are asses, they don't give a flying flip about the person on the other end of the phone. I have heard some people talk about how they are treated face to face CS situations and if you up that exponentially 3 times you get a micro understanding of how phone reps are treated. Not only are they treated that way by the customers, but they are treated that way by sups and managers.

I couldn't wait to get of the kill---errrr call floor.

You have to do something to make the work environment an enjoyable place to be at least once in a while. We have a few events a year, and normally we try to make sure everyone is off the line before we begin, but there are always a few stragglers.

My thoughts exactly...was she afraid they were keeping their neighbors awake? Does she think she's calling someone's house?

I found that when you call Toshiba tech support, your call gets routed to whatever of their offices is in business hours at the time. Call at midnight (GMT-5) and you get Japan, 9 PM you get Singapore, etc. I guess they don't like paying night differential. So far they've all spoken intelligible English...
