On a semi-related note, some of our most bat shit crazy patients are M.Ds. One is crazy, but in a totally delightful and quirky way, and if she took my insurance I would be happy to have her as my general practitioner.
The others, however, are crazy in a "holy FUCK you get to decide what meds OTHER people take?!?!?!" kind of way. They scare me, and I tell all friends and family members to NEVER go to their clinics, EVER. I wouldn't let them treat my freakin' CAT.
Seriously. One chick even called our office a dozen times in one day saying "I can't see, I can't see!!!". She's an M.D, so of course my boss at the time was going out of his way to work with her (professional courtesy, I guess?).
At the end of the day, we get one more phone call, and halfway through she cuts us off and says "Oops! I have two contacts in one eye and none in the other! Nevermind!" and hangs up on us.
..... I weep for her patients, I really do...
