    4. "What kinds of sauces/Cheeses/Meats/Breads do you have?"
why it's stupid: There is a sign right in front of you that says this, there are also a thing called a "Menu". Try reading it!

I'm one of those people who, because of vision problems, cannot read the board. Not everything is listed in a place that is were i can read it :S It's much faster to ask a quick question and give a quick answer.

Well you'd be justified, for having a vision problem, but this is mostly about Sign Blindness since people often come in and know they want ham but ask what kind of sauces we have when there's a sign not a foot away from their face.

    I had to google "poutine."

Looks interesting, but also like a heart attack on a plate.
So is this. (Google News results)

This thing was in the papers all the way to the UK. Keep in mind the Big E is in Western MA. And while it is a New England Fair, I grew up with it and can't help but think of it as a "local" fair.

    They have poutines in Florida.

    But probably not in Subways.

In Canada, they have fries at Pizza Hutt, etc.

    With gravy.

    YUM!

    3. "Does the $5 footlong deal work on 6-inches?"
Why it's stupid: Repeat after me...Five dollar FOOTLONG.
I'm assuming they were trying to get two different 6-inch subs for the same price as a footlong?

    >> Well, that 6-inch version of that sandwich is normally $3.50, but I'll be happy to charge you five bucks for it if you like...

Of course depending on where you live, Dr. Pepper might actually be carried with Coke too... for my region it's a Pepsi brand.
I got the skinny on this for some people I did training for recently -- they run the local Coke fountain distributorship. Dr. Pepper is made by the DrPepper/7UP Company -- it is bottled and distributed by either Coke or by Pepsi depending upon where you live -- and, in some cases, by both in the SAME MARKET... That's how it is here. I don't think there is any place to eat here where you cannot get DrP or pibb at all -- except for KFC. Everyone else has it in the fountain, regardless of whether they go with Coke (90+% of restaurants) or Pepsi.

Talk about playing both sides against the middle >_>

Subways here are actually one of the only places where you can get MrPiBB instead -- and, even then, only at the fountain. Coke has, for some reason, gone out of its way to see to it that pibb is NOT available in bottles/cans around here, even tho they're the ones who MAKE the stuff. Unofficially, it involves a check with lots of zeroes on it from the DrP company...

They used to. Or at least SOME of them used to (I recall reading a wikipedia article at some point that said unlike most food companies with multiple locations, Subway wasn't "exclusive" to either side of the cola wars for a long time... but then some point during the past 8 years, signed exclusivity with Coca-Cola)... I used to always have soda fountain Dr. Pepper with my BMTs. Of course depending on where you live, Dr. Pepper might actually be carried with Coke too... for my region it's a Pepsi brand.
I'm not certain, but I think Pepsi made them choose. I seem to remember something about Pepsi making some chain choose one or the other, to their detriment.

Dr Pepper (no period these days) is bottled independently, but they don't do their own distribution, so which side carries it in an area is dependent upon which side they've got distributing for them.

*glances at her can* ... except the ones that they have bottled by, say, Coca Cola...

    7. "Do you have Pepsi?"
Why it's stupid: Take one look at the soda fountain...do you see Pepsi? And take one look at the cooler...do you see Pepsi?

In other news, I've never encountered a Subway that serves fries. Or anything fried at all, really.

    ^-.-^

    Um, bag of chips?

But just imagine if Subway did fry stuff: You wanted it toasted or fried?

    6. "Do you do deliveries?"
Why it's stupid: Because this is Subway.
Our Subway does deliveries. But you have to pre-order and it has to be above a certain value, but they do deliver.

    1. "Are you guys open yet?"
Why it's stupid: Because the gate is up, there are people in line, there are people eating Subway sandwiches, and the lights are on.
Ah, you must've gotten this customer. Yep, it's always fun dealing with Captain Oblivious.

Quizno's delivers now (at least up here), and there may be some Subways that do deliver. If it's a standalone/minimall location that might not be too strange a question to ask. Inside Mall/Campus locations it'd be a stupid question.

And if the customer doesn't know what Subway does and doesn't do, it's not a stupid question.

    Fort collins.

And no, we don't have fries at Subways in Fort Collins. We have, however, had someone wth an obvious north american accent say "Well where are the chips? no, I meant CHIPS. As in potato fries." probably to make a scene.
I'm from Aurora myself. I think the managers of my favorite Subway will be moving up to your part of the state. Not sure when, but I'm gonna miss them. They were cool.
