Speaking of fairy, HD, you'd probably approve of my 'costume'.
Last night I went to 7-11, the clerk (a guy that all my roommates know, we go to 7-11 way too often ) asked what I was dressed up as (he was being a smartass, I wasn't in any costume)...
My response, "I am the most terrifying thing possible to Utah residents... I'm dressed up as a gay man who does not reinforce their bigoted stereotypes."
One of the other people in the store said something along the lines of " fags" and walked out... so apparently the 'costume' worked

      Halloween Round-up

      Barney the Dinosaur

Good costume. Bad choice of character. I’m not sure you want to be wandering the city after dark dressed as a character whose popularity among adults is due exclusively to an overwhelming desire to inflict physical violence upon him. A movement so wide spread it has its own 5 page Wikipedia entry detailing the various ways and organizations that hate him.

So you might want go as Dino or something next year. If you survive till sunrise this evening, anyhow.
Side note: There was a comic mini-series that one day HOPEFULLY will become a movie that sounds a lot like this... "Puffed".

A young guy gets a job at an amusement park so he can get close to cute girl. The job: mascot... dinosaur costume. Rival for cute girl's affections sabotages young guy's suit and car. Young guy must cross dangerous part of town at night while trapped in costume.

      "Barney" meets "After Hours".

If anyone in Hollywood is reading this, MAKE THIS MOVIE!

How could you tell the burqua costume was being worn by a dude? I once saw a lady in a burqua and could only tell it was a lady because she spoke to me.

We have customers in here in Burquas who have moustaches AND deep voices. They borrow books on a female users card, but I am never quite sure.

1 guy dressed as a pirate with 6 of his friends dressed as the New York Mets.
Oddly enough, I would've liked to have seen that.

I believe I already answered that question when I picked up the phone and identified myself as the answering service. Thus I am a service, which answers. Specifically, I answer phone lines. You are calling a phone line. I am answering it. Because that is my purpose.

Not a bad prospect. I am not afraid. In the meantime, let me close my eyes and sense the beauty around me. And take that breath under the dark sky full of stars. Breathe in. Breathe out. That's all."

I saw the strangest thing yesterday.... A UHAUL with Nunavut on its side....

What the hell is something like that doing in North Platte, Nebraska?

I might have to go back and get a picture of it.

You never know, he could have gone as Niko Belici
Oooh... possible. But he'd have to be able to do the voice, or it's a complete fail.

I'll volunteer to vet anyone trying that.

UHaul paints the sides of their vans with locations that they have outlets, I believe. What is painted on the side is pretty much never where the van in question is actually stationed.

Yes, it seems that the most popular costume for young females is "whatever is most revealing in your wardrobe and add a random accessory".

There was a small anime convention close to where I live the weekend before last. Though there were a whole bunch of rather well executed cosplays (Yuffie from FF7, Alice and Esmeralda form Alice in Wonderland and The Hunchback of Notre Dame, to name a few), there were also quite a lot who just didn't care to even try and remotely ressemble any known character.

"I'm totally a Naruto character from Naruto! See? Konoha headband!" That would work if you weren't dressed like a Luis Royo pin-up.
"I am not able rightly to apprehend the kind of confusion of ideas that could provoke such a question."

One thing I hate about conventions is when I have a brain fart and I know who someone is but my brain can't connect the cos play I see with what my brain knows they are from

I am always lazy in the costume department. Not only do I dress the same way I usually do, I even steal a movie line to explain it away...

Best part is, people who know me IRL usually stop, maybe do a double-take, then say that, for me, that'll do

Wait... just a sec... lemme catch my breath.

GK, I bow to your wit and intellect. This is what I have missed most during my enforced hiatus (my old job blocked the site LOL and being a single mom to two very active kids, I don't have time to get on in the evenings). Would you believe that I have a word doc at home that has a goodly number of your rants dating back to their beginnings? (okay, that makes me sound like a creepy stalker - but I swear I just keep them so I can have a good laugh whenever I need one!)
