For the most part, the only sucky customers I get is scammers trying to take advantage of the anonimity of the relay system (a loophole soon to be closed, thank you so very much FCC
) To my credit, I just had a floor manager who was impressed at how quickly I caught a scammer. We are not allowed to do anything except relay the call, we can not lead the scammer into doing anything incriminating. The closest we can come to doing that is "accidentally" relay an operator directed question
(I'm sorry, I thought that question about doesn't this sound a bit suspicious to you, was directed at the caller, not me, after all, I'm not allowed to speculate
). We are however allowed to flag suspicious activity and forward it to the floor manager at any time. I got a scammer today, I had him flagged by his second message... and what do you know, he incriminated himself 7 minutes later... floor was impressed at how quick I picked up on him.
Normally I would call this a general work chat, because after all, it is about me doing good at catching scammers... but this particular guy just didn't give up. After the Floor blocked his username from me reporting it, he called right back in, using a practically identical username (he just added a '1' to the end) got the agent in the cubicle next to me, and tried to do the exact same scam with the exact same business
That takes either a lot of balls or a lot of stupid.
