I look like a fatter, older version of myself from 7th grade.
I still don't bother brushing/combing my hair, still wear unmatched clothes, and still wear a hat every day.
I wear a hat because my hair is extremely wavy and I can't do shit with it unless it's really short or pretty long. Right now it's pretty shaggy, so I can't do anything with it. I have 3 pairs of jeans (2 blue, 1 black) and wear mismatched shirts.
I don't give 2 craps what I look like (probably explains why I don't have a boyfriend).
My farts smell far worse than they did in 7th grade though.

Me too.Quoth bean View PostI look like a fatter, older version of myself from 7th grade.
I've ran into people from all the back in elementary school who know who I am and say "wow do you look the same"
Guess with wearing T-shirts and jeans for all those years and having the same haircut it isn't hard to find me.

I wear my jeans as low as I please and I don't care if people want to snerk or make remarks. I'd rather have my undies peeking out than to have an unflattering "pouch" that those awful high waisted pants tend to give women, even the slimmest women. You really need to see a neurologist. - Wagegoth

I've had arguments before with my own sisters about where their waists are. My two youngest INSIST that their hips are their waist. Seriously. They think exactly where those lowriders fall IS their waist and refuse to believe anyone that your waist is actually much higher. Even one of my coworkers insisted that their hips were their waist.
Pants keep sagging lower the next generation will firmly believe their KNEES are their waist...

My main thing is that I'm in a professional position. Yeah, I could wear something that's held up solely by my backside, but one, they're not comfy for me, and do nothing to flatter me. Sliding the waist band back up towards my actual waist makes me look slimmer. And then I don't have to worry about my pants falling!

Personally, I think low-riders are only ok if you're uber thin. If you have any body fat at ALL they simply make the 'muffin top' that much more hideously obvious. At least waist high pants contain it a bit.
Even if you are uber-thin please don't bend over in front of me, I want to see neither your thong or your crack, thank you

You're probably wearing the wrong cut, then. Then again, most women are, since the fashion industry seems to want to eliminate juniors sizing from pants.Quoth blas View PostI'd rather have my undies peeking out than to have an unflattering "pouch" that those awful high waisted pants tend to give women, even the slimmest women.
Misses sizes are even numbers, and are cut to have a lot of room in the gut area, but not a ton in the butt. Juniors sizes are odd numbers and are cut to have a lot of butt room, but be pretty flat across the abdomen.
Low rise jeans that fit are just fine, even if you're heavy. I know. I have some super low rise jeans that are actually my size (juniors, see above) and I don't have any issues with showing my panties, or butt crack, nor do I have any hint of a muffin top (at least not because of my jeans).Quoth LewisLegion View PostPersonally, I think low-riders are only ok if you're uber thin. Saw one woman on the bus, once, that had enough crack showing that I could have stowed my book in there. Totally trashy.
The style these days seems to call for for skinny jeans (I think they look like absolute crap on just about everybody) at least one size too small. I don't know why so many women have no problem with that jiggly pouch of belly fat flopping around between the hem of their cropped shirts and their low rise skinny jeans. Blech.

If you're talking about the folk etymology that involves jail and "availability," that's just a runour started to make those of us who don't partake in that particular stupid fashion feel superior.Quoth jackfaire View PostSadly I doubt any of them know where sagging came from anyway
Sure, it most likely did start based on jailhouse fashion, such as it is, but is much more likely linked with the most dangerous of inmates not being allowed to have belts and sizing being a somewhat haphazard affair.
Of course, once those dangerous inmates get out of jail, they go back to wearing pants that fit.

So that would be why odd-sized pants don't fit me. Never knew WHY, just that they didn't, and that I couldn't buy pants at Target since that's all they seemed to carry.Quoth Andara Bledin View PostYou're probably wearing the wrong cut, then. Me, I like jeans that sit at my natural waist. A pair that fits right neatly tucks in this little bit of tummy I've got going (which is why I can't wear low-rise pants, it pokes right out!). Wearing a size too small actually stretches out the fabric and makes me look bigger--when I bought new jeans that fit right all my classmates were asking if I'd LOST weight because I looked better, even though I'd had to buy a size bigger jeans! It's little things that make the difference between 'enjoyable', 'tolerable', and 'gimme a spoon, I'm digging an escape tunnel'.

Actually I was referring to how dangerous inmates weren't allowed belts and how their fellow gang members on the outside would sag their pants as a show of solidarity.Quoth Andara Bledin View Post
