One freaking dollar!

Okay, this old lady was so excited in my window because she had 369 in chips and one ticket for 2.60. I paid her 371.60. She was all happy and left and so I went to lunch.

About twenty mins into my lunch (I stayed in the back) a CW comes up to me and is telling me the Old woman is bitching up a storm saying I didn't pay her a dollar!

I KNOW I paid her right. I even did it on the caculator for her the first time! She was going ballistic.

I heard:

SC: I can't believe she would take my dollar like that! I went to look for a dollar to tip the cocktail waitress and I had nothing! I cannot believe she'd do that to me! Bitch, moan, rant.

The supervisor said they will not check the tapes for a dollar so to make me look like I am a fool---they gave her the fucking dollar.

Thanks. I looked like a total jackass. At the end of the night I balanced. They didn't pull the dollar out of my drawer but it made me SO angry that the woman got away with it. I understand its ONE dollar BUT to bitch, moan and basically say I purposely kept her money was beyond crappy. And the more you bitch the more they give in. I get that they wanted her to go away but still makes me angry.

But it's the principle, darn it! I really wish that she hadn't been given a dollar back, though. It probably would have been hilarious if she tried to make a complaint.

The sad thing is if you went to managment and said, "See my drawer came out right so the lady was lying" They would reply that you must have given someone else a dollar too much.

You balanced, you didn't look like the fool, she did. You are right they gave it to her too make her go away. She probably gets away with this alot, keeps the amounts low enough so that they don't look at the tapes. Few dollars here and there adds up over time.

I can't understand how a person could think they can get away with that. Any casino I go to they go through the whole ritual about counting out the money, sitting it on the counter and waving hands and all that. Not to mention the cameras.

This is a case of a battle that is not worth fighting.

Sure, they could pull the drawer, count it down, and prove that the woman received all of her change.

And the cost in man-hours would be far greater than $1. It's just not worth it.

Of course, when handing over the $1 to the bitchy lady, it should also be made clear that the only reason it is being done is because she is not worth wasting time or effort to deal with.

It IS lame that the supervisor made you look like you made a mistake to that lady, but it's a relief that they didn't actually think so. If that lady is proud about scamming a dollar from you then she should really DIAF

Well, at least they believed you. I hate it when sups don't believe their workers. And the lady would have been mad at you anyway, so that doesn't change her opinion in any way.

I guess that doesn't make it go away, but it's what I say to myself. Over and over and over and over and over... in my little padded room... rocking back and forth...
