  • Cheap, cheap, cheap

I worked for a company that had a program for kids clothes and shoes; there were two benefits to the program.

1.) For every $100 spent on kids clothes/shoes you got a 15% discount coupon to use on a future purchase.

(And the one that made my work-life a living hell!)

2.) Every article purchased was guaranteed. If it ripped, tore, had a broken zipper, a hole, ANYTHING, the item could be returned and replaced with the exact same item for FREE.

So, when was this a problem?

When people wanted to bring back a winter coat with a broken zipper in JUNE when we didn't have them in stock... because it was JUNE!

Or when they bought the item from the clearance rack so we had none left so they got all huffy about it.

But my favorite was a woman who would come in 10 minutes before closing time to exchange UNDERWEAR (complete with skid marks!)... Ugh!

Look, I get the sense that kids cost a lot of money, but come on! Buy them some new underwear for Pete's sake! To me, this was just the epidomy of cheap.

I can imagine her blaming the store for the skid marks.
Time! Time! Time is what turns kittens into cats.

Don't teach me a lesson; all I learn is that you are an asshole.

    I wish porn had subtitles.

Would this be called something like The Little one's benefit club at your local hardware store that you can also buy underwear and shoes at?

If so, we belong to such club and I have wondered about that same thing myself. First of all, my kids don't destroy their clothes that quickly, so it will be a few years (and kids) later before I can even call in my claim. Those clothes aren't going ot be there.....

Needless to day, we have never made a claim...nor will we...

I read this in a comic strip (don't remember which one and paraphrasing)

Student: Can I ask you a question about the Recession?

          Teacher: Sure

Student: Well I was at the mall with my parents on Friday and I saw a ton of people spending a lot of money on stuff they don't need.

Teacher: Okay and what's the question?

Student: Well I guess I don't understand what a rececssion is.

While I feel your pain, your company set itself up for things like that. Unless that guarantee had an exclusion for stains, that sort of thing is going to happen.
