For those of you who know Stargate characters/actors...
We have a family here, a very extended family (they are considered modern-day "gypsies" I guess) that has been black listed from renting from our hotels' rooms. They are red flagged through central reservations as well. They have tried multiple times to check in, but luckily I am one of the few people left who know they are black-listed. They are fully aware of it themselves.
They were banned because they took advantage of the hotel. They were indeed true scam artists. Rented day by day only paying cash. They asked for help with tons of things very often. Forced the desk to do their laungry for awhile. And to top it off made the claim their kids were being bitten by bugs only for we the hotel to find out they introduced bed bugs into our hotel. The clean up cost $2,000-$5,000 every couple of weeks for 4 months to rid of them. We hadn't had them before & haven't had them since. They stayed upwards of nearly two months solid & would not let housekeeping into their destroyed rooms. They would rent two rooms at a time & there were at least 6 people to a room, possibly more.
They keep trying to stay. Many different people in the family. Lucky they all bear family resembelance and use the same last name. They keep thinking we have forgotten all of the family members, but we haven't.
So...it was only a matter of time before they started using fake names (Which could be fraud?) to book rooms through central reservations.
It was the other property like ours that bears the name "& Suites" and is owned by the same people, that got to find out this one.
This family has now checked in under the name Don Davis. The other night auditor had to call me & laugh because for those of you in the know the late Don S. Davis played the character General George Hammond on the stargate series.
Actually, we were both kinda offended. They are no where near as cool as Don S. Davis was!
