This happened to my coworkers, not me. I wasn't there when this occurred, just heard the story, so Admins, please move this thread if necessary.
That being said...
I work at a coffee shop, one that is equipped with two single person bathrooms.
This past Saturday, my two coworkers, T and Z (first name initials) were closing the store. The store closing time is posted on the doors, and Saturdays it is 10pm.
T is the supervisor. The store was empty, and she and Z were working on vacuuming and such, when 10pm rolled around. T turned off the "Open" sign, locked one door, was walking to the other to lock it as well, when this guy came into the store and made a beeline for the bathroom without a word or glance to T or Z.
At first T and Z thought, "no big deal, he'll be out in a minute".
But no. He was in there for several minutes. And this is after close, so T is standing by the door with her key, waiting for him to leave so she can lock up. (doors don't move once they're locked, and we're forbidden to lock the doors when any customers are inside)
So they wait. And wait.
Soon T and Z start getting nervous, thinking all sorts of things, like maybe he's in there putting on a ski mask and loading a gun. SIDENOTE: There were several robberies of other shops in our chain in the area last year; robbers held the employees at gunpoint. There were two robbers, and as far as we've heard, only one was caught. So their paranoia was not unwarranted.
Another couple minutes passed, and T picked up the phone and called our friendly small town cops--who are stationed two blocks away! A couple minutes later, there are FOUR squad cars outside the shop. No lights or sirens, they're just ready to pounce if needed.
A couple minutes later, this asshole in the bathroom FINALLY comes out and leaves the store without a word. T locked the door, waved to the cops, and they all left.
Seriously, SERIOUSLY?? Who ducks into a store 30 seconds before close to take a 15 minute shit???
I hope that guy got even more shit scared out of him when he walked outside and saw all those cops, watching him.
Last minute customers I can deal with; people who come into my store just to use the bathroom, especially right at close...
