This happened one winter when we had bad weather and some colleagues could not come in to work at the usual time.
A decision was made to see as many customers on the sales floor as possible, so any call centre agents with sales floor experience were asked to go to the sales floor.
This included myself, one of only five workers there untill about 11am when the other workers managed to come in and we three from the call centre went back to taking phone calls.
Inevitably I had the following conversation -
customer - I came in this morning and was told to call the call centre and the person I saw told me you would do xy and z
me - do you know who it was you spoke you?
customer - *describes telephoneangel*
me - I didn't say that at all!
