I live in a small town and since I was 16 I've been buying alcohol. Never been carded. Probably cause the owner likes my mom and knows I don't drink. I swear, everything I buy is for her. Anyway, now that I'm legal I pull out the ID and hand it over even though I'm not asked. It's like, I have it, so look!! kinda deal.

Several of my employer's company got busted for failure to comply with the law. Not my store though. The Lawful/Neutral front end manager is far too capable to let that happen at her store.
If only Corporate were as smart and capable as she is, or even half. Sigh.Customers should always be served . . . to the nearest great white.

The first place I worked required the cashiers to card everyone, no matter how old they looked, and everyone in a group unless they were very obviously parent and child.
The only people who could make exceptions were managers, so if someone protested we could just call them over and they would handle it and take any flak.
I couldn't fully appreciate it then, but in retrospect the lengths they went to in order to shunt the SCs onto the people who are paid to deal with them were really amazing. The High Priest is an Illusion!
