In my thread here I mentioned that this particular company we're dealing with has been screwing us over lately when it comes to new work. Specifically they gave our pricing to our competitors, got a price that undercut ours, and then signed the competitor up without giving us a chance to lower our price.
Because of this my boss (who despite being an idiot is a vengeful, vengeful man, maybe they're related) has decided that this customer no longer gets premium service. They don't get the first shot at dates if someone else wants it, etc.
So today I got to inform them that I can't make the delivery Friday, I'll do it Monday. They ranted (and are still ranting) about this.
Keep in mind this is the FIRST time we have ever done this to them. We frequently have moved other people off a day or two to service them, no more.
This is what I hear from them "4 buildings and a garage and we're getting bumped?" "Yeah, but we've been on time and delivered when you wanted for every other trip other than this one"
They really didn't have a response for that one.
Then they go on to tell me they wanted us to delivery Saturday too (it's a two day job). "Did you tell anyone this?" "I was going to tomorrow" "There's extra fees with Saturdays, we'd needed to have known that sooner"
Still waiting for the hammer to fall, waiting for this guys boss, or the bosses boss, or, you get the point, to call.
What did they expect given how they've treated us lately?
Oh and further proof that my boss is an idiot. When they called on Friday 4/2 to schedule Friday 4/9 he knew they were going to end up being Monday 4/12, but apparently rather than tell them then to slow down, he told them ok. Granted it makes for better vengeance but it doesn't make my job any easier.
