I very firmly believe that this customer was sucky, but it did not involve me or any other employee, except for maybe the manager who had to deal with the problem, so MODs feel free to move the story if needed.
Last week I was working behind the concession stand, and a customer came up to 1 of us and asked for a manager. After several minutes of talking, I ask the manager what is going on. He says the guy and his girlfriend were in a movie and were laughing, and the guy behind them said "Stop laughing and shut up before I kick your ass!"
As you can imagine, the police were called, the customer was given a free pass to come back another time, the asshole who threatened him got talked to by management, and then finally had a nice long chat with the police. He finally leaves.
Ok, I know some people just talk througout the movie, and I've even experienced this myself where I've had people laughing at every little thing in the movie, even if its not a comedy. But I was working and I don't know the full story.
First I'd like to ask yall's opinion. What would you do if someone threatened you like that? I would've told the guy to fuck off, but avoided a fight unless of course he threw the first punch. I will not alllow myself to be bullied by anyone.
Well, I asked a coworker of mine whom I get along with great, and he said he would've challenged the guy to a fight.
Me: You're going to get kicked out doing that.
CW: So what? I get thrown out of a movie theatre, big deal.
Me: Since you work here, yeah, it may be a big deal to management.
CW: So you wouldn't fight him?
Me: No, I don't want to start trouble. Fighting is immature. The only fighting I like is watching it on tv.
CW: Dude, you're never going to get anywhere in life being a puss. You need to stand up for yourself. (he really didn't mean any harm by this)
Me: Not only would you be kicked out, the police would probably arrest you.
CW: So? Its no big deal.
Me: Um, yes it is a big deal. I'm not about to get locked up in jail for a period of time or pay a hefty fine. You'd better be careful.
This kid is only 17. If he keeps going on like this, I'm afraid he's going to learn a hard lesson in life if he's going off getting into fights with anyone who challenges him.
