  • Everyone forgets their name now and again.

I work at a motorcycle dealership, we sell motorcycles and the parts as well service them. There is only half-a-dozen sale staff that face the public. We each have a day off during the week as we are open six days a week. We are pretty friendly with the customers we know quiet a few of them personally and they know us.
    I answer the phone:

    Me: Good Afternoon *dealership*

    Sucky Customer: *co-worker's name*

M: Sorry, this is not *co-worker*

SC: Well I want to talk to him

M: Sorry, he is not in today.

SC: Well he just called me two seconds ago I just missed his call.

M: Well he has not been in today, can I get your name sir and see if someone else tried to call you.

SC: *co-worker* called me I know he did, just two seconds ago

M: Well I am sorry, but he is not in today, can I get your name?

SC: B* S* I know he called me, I just missed his call.

M: Well I was in on Monday and I saw him, I am not sure about yesterday because I was off but I'm pretty sure he was in. But today he is not in, I have been here all day and I have yet to see him.

(the customer has now raised his voice and is yelling)

SC: I know for a fact he called me and I want to talk to him.

M: Can I get your name sir, so I can find out who tried to call you. (very slowly) Do you have a first name?

SC:*yells name that the phone distorts*

M: And how about your last name, do you have one of those?

SC: F* You buddy, don't get all f*ing mouthy with me.

M: All I did was ask for your name and you clearly do not even know what that is.

SC: I can't even believe this, you have no right f*ing right to talk to me like this. I am calling tommorow then and you will have to suffer.

M: Good luck with that one.

Speaking to another co-worker, he had the same problem earlier with the same customer simply telling him that he needed more work done on his bike

Maybe your colleague is in the mythical back room?

    *ducks*

    Welcome aboard!

SC: I can't even believe this, you have no right f*ing right to talk to me like this. I am calling tommorow then and you will have to suffer.
I don't quite think suffering will be for the same reasons as he thinks...
