just here to chime in with another ILY.

edit: I started crochet but I have neither the time nor the patience. I tip my hat to knitters because ughhhh that process.

um because artist =/=machine. you don't swipe a credit card between their fingers and magically out comes art-jeez.....
But still feel free to swipe your credit card between my fingers. Just don't be surprised when a $400 charge for my Jedi boots happens to show up....

    kidding.

The peach and blue sounds awesome. It's one of those combos that doesn't sound like it should work but it does.
Peach and blue is surprisingly effective. I did a pair of beaded earrings in that scheme, and my mother and aunt both thought I was insane for picking that combo. It was the first sale at the next show we did.

Love the art, but love the pwnage even more. Good job!

    ^-.-^

    Thank you!

I am working on a peach and blue striped baby gown, with peach sleeves that have blue zigzags. The lace shawl sounds beautiful!!
Victorian Romance. Doing it in a deep green with gold ribbon. I also did her Mandala (that could seriously be the only lace pattern you need. Ever.) in a variegated purple. Got them both as part of the Anniversary KALs, but I missed signing up for this year. Since I haven't finished last year's (Victorian), that's probably a good thing.

So, I have hit a depression induced dry spell with my artwork.
I totally sympathise. Artwork does depend on your emotions, and if you aren't feeling your best, you just...can't. I've been going through a similar time for the same reasons.

    artist =/=machine.
Precisely. It's not like making a sandwich. If you aren't feeling it, it won't materialize. That's why so many artists talk about "the muse" or "inspiration".

But so many non-artist folks just don't get it. "You can draw, so draw! Here's the deadline, just do it!" Yeah, problem is, stuff that's cranked out tends to look it, and doesn't satisfy anybody.

Back on topic, that guy was a complete and total asshat. Impatience, I can kind of understand (you don't like it, just think how the artist is feeling! Don't you think she'd rather complete the project?!). But the assault was way out of line, and he deserved far more than ruined artwork for his rotten behaviour.

This is why I never take commisions from the folk at work; not only do I doubt I could get things the way they want to, but I know there's never a guarantee that I'd ever finish it in time (since I have trouble enough finishing my own artwork).

...speaking of which, I should probably be drawing now instead of spending all day on the intrawebs (again).

My mom is an artist and one thing I've learned over the years is not to mess with her like that...

    Good for standing your ground.

You rock! I love that you taught him a lesson, but it's sad you had to ruin a piece of your work to get the point across.

Wow, I hope you recover and have a chance to relax soon, its always annoying when EW's suck all the fun out of anything.

Hugs and cookies when you need them

I do, and those scans are all in a pretty blue memory stick =)
just a thing, but i've had memory sticks die on me without any warning, so although this is a good idea, keep a back up somewhere else as well please
