    so damn annoying.

    packs of them.all.day.long.

i found so much stolen stuff on just 1 aisle yesterday its not even funny
    - 2-3packs of 5 gum
    - 1-3 pack of juicy fruit (all of which i guess were seen in kids hands in the area they were stolen, and kids asked for those specific flavors)
    - 1 single pack of 5 gum
    - an mp3 player
    - electronic thesaurus

    wtf

the other day there were 20 *yes we counted* kids in one group in our store, and the store is small, so crowding happens pretty quick. many ofthe kids grabbed candy and left.

last night the best was this one

its 9, were closed. im standing at the front door letting custoemrs out. theres still a few inside checking out. one kids outside asks if he can come in quickly since his friend is in there, i said no, his friend would be out in a few seconds ( he was checking out as i spoke) kid comes in anyways and his friend quickly follows. assholes. so does he go up to the registers? nope! he goes right down the aisle to the deodarant and douses himself with axe, and comes back to walk out. mind you im staring at him the whole time and he saw me see him do it. as he walks out i tell him that he cant do that and next time hes paying for it. then theres the half assed "uh sorry" or whatever.

of course being stupid as i am, what i shouldve done was made him walk back there, and go pay for it right then.

everyone leaves everything is shutting off we're walking towards the back and some kids are still trying to get it. GTFO! seriously?

is there NO WHERE else to hang out???? everyone else in the area has kicked them out or, just banned them period. barnes and noble has banned them, the restaurants kick them out all the time. where are the parents????

do these kids act like dickwads around their families? gahhhhhh

The local grocery store has rules against kids.

    No backpacks allowed.

Only X number of kids allowed in the store at any given time. Yes, when school lets out, there is a line of middle and high school kids outside the door. They enforce the rules.

my old store said no backpacks...but there werent nearly as many kids...

half the kids have them, i think we'll use that rule now. they wanna make a stink about it? leave. your 99cent purchase means nothing to me

the limit would be tough, we do get hit with driving school weeknights, and they only have like a 10 min break or so, so we cant really limit them that way.

since i close 5 of 7 nights i get the kid problem the most. and it will only get worse once its summer. i just wish the manger really know HOW BAD it is, especially when your shorthanded every single night (yet NEVER in the morning)

amend it to no backpacks and a parent present. although, i'm sure said breeder would angrily protest that their little pwecious would never ever do such a thing and how dare you even suggest that their little crapstain would stoop to theft?

in a perfect world, we could make these little shits work off what they steal in hard labor.
        look! it's ghengis khan!
Sorry, but while I can do many things, extracting heads from anuses isn't one of them. (so sayeth the irv)

And yet people still wonder why I don't want to have kids.

It seems you just answered your own question. Apparently there isn't anywhere else to hang out.

Well I assume you were stood by the door with the keys in the lock? It would have been the sensible thing to do to lock the door and either make him pay for it or call the police on grounds of criminal damage (damaging your stock beyond its full retail value)

We get kids coming into our shop (10,000sqft) and heading straight for the confectionery. This is right near the backroom door. I came out of said door earlier, and there were these 3 kids loitering. One had a pack of chewing gum (that we sell) and was handing out pieces to his friends. Two other staff were further up the aisle, but busy and hadnt seen these kids. The kid put the rest of the chewing gum in his pocket. But he also had some other sweets he hadnt concealed as he walked towards the checkouts. I didnt see him take the chewing gum off the shelf so I let them on their way, for the sake of 35 pence.

            I also hate kids.

Please refer to THIS THREAD regarding offensive names for kids.

Also, I am not a parent, but many of the members of this board are, and calling them "Breeders" is incredibly offensive.

Keep it clean people - otherwise infractions and thread locking will happen.

Now I admit, I take my backpack with me everywhere. I won't go anywhere without it. But there's a good reason for that - I'm an unstable diabetic so it keeps important supplies I need in there. It used to keep a glucometer, too, until test strips got priced far out of my reach a couple of years ago.

we get a lot of kids in our store, trying to sell me stuff to them for, like, a buck. i just point to the dollar store. having kids still in grade school out wandering around without their parents in our town of people who drive like nascar wanna-be's terrifies me.

If your store is in the Norfolk(VA) area, then to answer THAT question(About them having nowhere else to go) - After 5pm, ALL persons 18 and under MUST vacate MacArthur Center Mall if they have no parental guidance. Which made a lot of local teens very mad, as well as parents, because there went a safe place they can hang out after school and school activities and homework etc. were done. As annoying as I'm sure they may've BEEN for the employees, but it's better than the more dangerous alternatives. Me, passing quite often for about 14-15, want to go to the mall one night with my mother, we go in separately just to see how long it takes mall security to try to kick me out
                      Look, a signature!

If every cashier in the world went on strike, retail would come to a screeching halt, even if for a couple hours.
