I have a friend who tries pulling this over trying to validate or justify having made a seriously avoidable stupid choice then complain about money later cause he doesn't have a job. Your parents will have a hard time getting on you about not having a job. Shouldn't matter it's at a park or a library.

Aye, I'd say to bargain from a position of strength -- If the library wants you, THEN tell your parents that you have indeed obtained advancement... You advanced right out of that hellhole, and into a job that pays better, is arguably safer, and will save lots of travel time and gas money. If anything, a library has MORE room for improvement, even tho most higher positions require specific degrees. It's fairly obvious to me that the "fair" doesn't want upwardly-mobile workers; they want expendable slave labor. I've been at jobs like that before.

On the after-hours stuff...Just to make sure, If you happen to be a minor or in school, there are severe restrictions on how late they can keep you, or have you work in a given day, no matter what...If the limit comes (8 hours or 8pm for minors, I think), that's it, they MUST clock you out and have you leave.

Then again, if yer under 24 and in the States, you get all of yer taxes back. Works out nicely. Damn whippersnappers.

Also tell them that you'll stick it out at your current job, but could they at least let you apply. I think that part of the problem is that you are saying that you want to quit THEN look for another job.

However, when making sure your shit's together transcends into short-sighted greed, I get plain up angry. We do not use those fifteen minutes to close our games and get out! No, management keeps us up to 45 minutes after park close for the sole purpose of selling our games to people on their way out.

I can kind of see the rationale behind it, but it always leads to annoying pushes to play after the park closes. Sometimes, the line's backed up so far, I don't get out until 9 when the park closes at 8! It's maddening, especially when people have the GALL to get impatient because I'm one person and they should be gone already anyway! Boggles the mind! Onto the real story...

So, I had to process a few refunds at the game I did. After being taken late at another game to spiel it out to the bitter end, I tell management for the third time that I need money refunded to my bank, because we are supposed to give money to guests from the bank when the crane games, photo booths, etc. eat their money. I get told by my sup to go up and get dropped by a change sup on the opposite end of the park. I know where this is going. Long story short, I wait 20 minutes for his ass to show up and get out late again.

I don't know what's happening to me. I started the season in April loving my job, and now, at the beginning of June, dread going to work every day. I really want to quit and look around for other jobs, but my parents won't let me do so, saying instead that I have to stick around and wait for advancement.
