Can't say I've ever had someone throw something at me before..

Ugh yeah, in the past 3 months I've been to 2 urgent care facilities over vomiting blood and tarry stool (LOL YOU HAVE THE FLU LOL YES IT'S THE FLU EVEN THOUGH IT'S LASTED 3 MONTHS LOL).

Then to an ER, got a CT scan, they said they couldn't find much. I did manage to make the male nurse uncomfortable when he told me exactly how he was going to get a stool sample, I giggled and told him I needed some drinks first, he deadpanned "I think you'll enjoy this more than me then". (it wasn't that enjoyable for me either).

Now to my first real PCP (primary care dr) since I was 16 (pushing 32 in a few weeks), 2 visits with him and he's already ordering all these internal tests I've flat out been BEGGING for from all the other dr's. The first thing he said he wanted to do was get copies of all of the bloodwork, xrays, CT scans, labs, etc - as he put it, "Why spend more money when the results are down the street?". He knows I'm strapped for cash.

I have a meeting with a GI dr on monday to discuss how we will proceed, followed a few hours later by a meeting with my shrink for happy pill refills. I'm really, really hoping both my shrink and PCP will feel comfortable letting my PCP handle my crazy meds, since I've been on the same dose for years now. My insurance doesn't cover mental health, but a PCP can prescribe these meds if he's comfortable. PCP visit = $16 out of pocket, shrink visit = $150 out of pocket. My new PCP was literally the first non-psychiatrist I've met that knew exactly what meds I was on (as in didn't have to look them up) and knew what dosages were ideal, and he agreed I was on ideal dosages.

I have a very high deductible, major medical only plan, but once I hit $1450 out of pocket they pay 80%... until I hit $5000 out of pocket, then they pay 100%. And I'm rapidly approaching the 5k limit for the year.

My new primary care dr (aka PCP) is HUGE on eating all natural, not much older than me (I'm about to turn 32, he's probably.. 37 or 38?), he grows all his own produce for his own family, and he firmly believes that a healthier diet can eliminate upwards of 60% of health issues with his patience. But he's also open to ideas from patients. He's been all over the news lately because of his approach to medicine (not holistic.. it's real medicine, but coupled with REAL diet and exercise) and how he feeds his own family.

As for my hand, right now the knuckles are a little tender and my wrist pops at the slightest move, but there's no real pain.. kind of feels like I punched a wall a little too hard. I have never, ever, ever, EVER had a customer complaint at my store that I know of (and supervisors are quick to say "Yeah so and so said you looked at them crosseyed or didn't use the proper key sequence, that's fucked up isn't it?" just to get a laugh out of some of the absurd comments). I've had compliments from corporate letters and local customers and management in my store, while I'm not their favorite, always admits I'm great with customers.

I'm sure I'll have to meet with my manager briefly tomorrow, but I emailed him my side already and I've spoken with every member of management I could find in the store before leaving tonight.

Ow! I'm cringing-- and the sounds your poor hand must be making... Take it easy, really easy on your hand. After all, it's just a mess of delicate musculature and tendons and way too many bones, and you use your hands every day no matter what.
I'm so glad management realizes how crazy-bad that was and that he has your back. It'd be so ... karmic... if she does contact corporate and just hands herself over to them! I mean, come on, she was silly enough to throw that in the first place, and then even more silly...nah, stupid to scream at your manager. She'll totally go to corporate.

Although the manager, or security/LP may not have been able to legally detain her, the manager should not have kicked her out, should have tried to keep her there, and should have called Police, but that's history now.

So, bean, if there's some way to get her name, defiinitely press charges.

I'm getting so sick of this shit of reading about fellow CS'ers being assaulted like this, no matter how seemingly minor.

Line cutting is a huge problem in my store, especially on express. We have one line for 2 registers, total of 4 express registers, so 2 lines. I loudly announced "Next in line please!" and the next person started walking up.. only to be shoved aside by a lady that looked like she was in her 70s or so. I told her "Ma'am, I'm sorry, but they were next in line, I'd be glad to help you if you wait your turn". She picked up a 5 pound box of chicken and hurled it at me, which smacked my left hand pretty damn hard, and ran out the door.

WTF you psycho bitch? I wasn't sure if I should run after her, call the cops, or just laugh. Everyone behind her started saying what a bitch, then several other customers started asking if I was okay, then they started laughing.

My hand hurts like hell, and yes, the very first thing I did was call the store manager... who was dealing with, guess who? She'd come back in another door, with a basket full of unpaid groceries, and was SCREAMING at him about how horrible the service was and how she'd never be back. I immediately call my boss and let him know what's going on, boss is already aware.

Store manager winds up telling the lady to leave because she was not only making a scene, but swearing loudly in front of children. He came up to me shaking his head, asked if I was okay, and if I wanted to fill out an incident report. Unfortunately, I didn't think to have him get her info (though I'm sure we will be hearing about this from corporate anyway) to press charges. I really hope she does contact corporate so that management can get her info and enable me to press charges against her.

I went back to the office with the manager, filled out an injury and incident report, all the cashiers around me got interviewed on the spot.

Anyway, after it's all said and done, the store manager told me he had my back 100% if the shit hits the fan. I just wish he'd gotten her info. And since I immediately filled out an injury report, in front of store management, my ass (er, hand) is covered if it winds up being sprained. Which I'm pretty sure it is, I can barely move my fingers now.. so off to their contracted facility in the morning.
