The smart thing to do if one is worried about one's vehicle is to park it as far away from other cars as possible, but... that would be too faaaaaaaar and Precious obviously is too important to walk He would probably bitch to a cashier or someone else who has as little control over things as possible, but that would mean leaving his expensive car out of his site, in the big mean parking lot. My hope is that he just never leaves the house
I did that with my new truck and saw some ghetto mama PURPOSELY drive up to it, pulled her keys out and DRAG them down the ENTIRE side of the truck. The bitch was just upset that I had a new car. Well, my instinct had kicked in and I videoed the entire event on my cell phone, intercepted her before she got back into the drivers seat and TOOK her keys out of her hand. She said she was calling her boyfriend to kick my ass, so I took her phone too, got in my truck and called the cops. Don't think I'll ever see any money but the she had a warrant and was also charged with felony destruction of property (over $1,500.00 is a felony.) Boyfriend showed up about 30 seconds before the cops did (don't know how he knew), but he slunk away the minute the cop showed up. I had to chuckle, the guy couldn't have weighed 100 lbs. dripping wet. I'm 6'1", 210 and not much fat.

Hmmm. I wonder what he does when he goes grocery shopping, goes to the mall, or anywhere else with an open parking lot that has no security guard watching over the lot & the cars.
This is the kind of asshole who parks taking up two spots near the entrance because he doesn't want to walk, and he doesn't trust other people.

Good for you, sticking to your guns.

hehe, our music building is only close to one garage. The next closest one is half a mile away.

Skip this part if you don't feel like reading: Not too far, but I can tell you it is exactly 30 big steps up, down walkway, up huge ass hill, down 45 steps, up gradual hill, down big ass hill, up 30 steep steps, up 20 weird long steps that have something to do with helping girls get away from potential rapists, I don't know, they're still annoying to walk, across street, up 10 steps, up ramp, up 4 floors to my classroom and the elevator is usually broken. My campus is not wheelchair friendly. There are 3 other garages even further. They kinda just located this building across the street from the edge of campus on the top of a hill.

So they closed off the lot I use for some event at 10, and my class is from 7:30 to 9. I begged the guy, then just went around to the other side and told them I was there for the event and got in. I hate when they close off the garages. We already don't have enough parking, and since there's only enough housing for 20% of the school population, the other 80% is forced to drive to school.

This guy sounds like someone whose mommy and or daddy spoiled them and acts the part all over. Ugh, definitely one of my least favorite type of people.

Bet my tow truck costs more than his expensive car
I'll take that bet. I'll wager his car.

              Oh, too bad, i lost.

My boss used to do that if he brought his Mercedes to work. He was always taking up two spots, so nobody could park next to him. That is, until the day he took up the *last* two spots in the garage. Needless to say, his car got trashed--someone keyed the hell out of it, broke a window or two, and let the air out of his tires It's not like he'd been warned *many* times by the building's management company--they'd left notes on his car previously to the vandalism--all of which he ignored.

Sorry, but I have no sympathy for people who do that. If you choose to take up more than the allotted spot, you're asking for someone to mess with your car. Like my boss--he knew what he was doing was wrong (and possibly inconveniencing others who had paid for parking), yet chose to do it anyway.

"Expensive" means you can't afford it. Trade down. Your little headaches will melt away.

Do what my Dad did, own a secondhand car that he bought so cheap that the day he came out of a restaurant and found it IN FLAMES from an electrical short, his reaction was to START LAUGHING

His wheels and paint job probably cost more than the entire car if he's from my neck of the woods.

Sounds like some of the kids here. They'll pay, say $2,000 for a used car--typically a Honda Civic--and then will dump about $10,000 in rims, stereo, and other "mods" to it. Never understood that mentality. Wouldn't it have been better to simply have purchased a better car in the first place? I'll also never understood the whole "you must be jealous" attitude of some of those fools. Sorry, but a Civic/Neon/Accord/etc. won't make *anyone* jealous. A Ferrari or Mercedes might, but not some stupid economy car

Because you can buy those rims and bells and whistles on credit that is much easier to get than an expensive car for those of us who either don't have the income or have terrible credit, or both.

Yep, you can get those things on credit. But, the high rates many lenders charge (24% in some cases), you'd be better off buying a better vehicle.

The point of doing that is that you buy a car cheap enough to pay for all the mods that you want to do. Getting custom springs (so you can lower the car) is expensive. So are the other modifications required to have a car that "I stopped when I hit 160, because I was getting scared, but it was still going smoothly".
