"Ok, I'll call a tow truck and they will definitely find you a parking space. Sure you don't want to find a space outside of the garage on your own?"

"I think there are spots available."

And I think I'm young, handsome and rich. Sucks to be us, huh?

started a topic "I do not believe you are full"

"I do not believe you are full"

    This happened Wednesday

    Long post

Visitor Parking was reserved for an event sponsored by the President's office. Wednesday was a busy day. Guests here for the event came & went. Then more guests arrived. At one point the garage was full. After the garage was full, one of the guests, who had left, returned. Here is what happened.

me: "I'm sorry, but we are completely full."
male guest: "But I am here for the President's office event."
me: "I know. Unfortunately we are completely full."
male customer: "So there are no spots available?"
me: "Unfortunately right now we are completely full."
male customer: "So where do I park?"

I give him options, none of which are free.

male customer: "I was told we could also park in that garage." *points to the faculty/staff garage*
me: "Well..I am not sure about that. You could try, but I cannot make any guarantees. I will raise the gate for you to go to the left."

He pulls up to the staff entrance & presses the call box. "Nancy" from the Parking office calls me asking why I sent him over there. I told her what he told me. She told me no, the guests here for the President's event could not park there. Then I told her Visitor Parking was full.

He returns to the booth window.

male customer: "They would not let me park in there."
me: "I know. The parking office, which is over these 2 garages, called me & told me that."
male customer: "But I need to park."
me: "Unfortunately we are completely full."

So I call the Parking office again to find out where he can park. "Nancy" answers the phone. I tell her why I am calling. She tells me he has to park at one of the public pay lots.

I told the guy what "Nancy" told me.

male customer:"But when I came earlier today you let me in. The full sign was on, but I saw spots inside the garage."
me: "Unfortunately we are completely full, & according to the parking office you have to park at one of the public pay lots."
male customer: "How do you know it is full?"
me: "Because I checked the garage"
    male customer: "When"
    me: "About 10 minutes ago"
male customer: "But I have been here for 10 minutes. I do not believe you. I do not believe the garage is full. I think there are spots available."

I say nothing. He backs up & leaves.

    The entire situation was sucky....
    1. the fact that too many guests arrived & there was limited parking
    2. the fact that the male customer argued with me
