As a law student I suppose I should be offended but then again I've met my classmates.Quoth Kereminde View PostBut then again . . . I'm not a lawyer. I'm actually just a sane and collected person
How was I supposed to know someone was slipping you Birth Control in the food I've been making for you lately?

Exactly. Issues like this are why these laws are in place. Time to lawyer up!Quoth Kereminde View PostThe law is there to protect people, and while people these days like to use it as a bludgeon to get their own way, you would be using it to protect your work and livelihood. So I give my blessing to go to it, but only if you're prepared for backlash which will precede and maybe even follow the court's decision. There is no problem we cannot ignore, confront, plot against, drown in chocolate sauce, or run over with the car- Christopher Elliot

It's not meant as a slight on lawyers, just a comment saying: "This is what someone who isn't an SC thinks like."Quoth Soulstealer View PostAs a law student I suppose I should be offended but then again I've met my classmates.
. . . Lawyers had nothing on some of the students I met in the Engineering departments

You do not need firm proof to go to Blizzard, they will seriously look into even rumors of people hacking accounts/items/whatever and selling them, they have the resources to find him and make his life miserable.
It may not actually help you but it will hurt him.

I echo the sentiments to throw what little info you have to Blizzard.
They're huge, and they're now owned by Activision, which is run by a megalomaniacal, gamer-hating, money-grubbing prick who would be delighted to have any additional chances to go after people for anything.
Since you have his PayPal account info (I assume he used it to pay for his original purchase), that could be valuable information for the report.

Here in PA, the law is that ALL lawyers provide free consultation. I don't know if this is nationwide or what. Some lawyers advertise as doing free consultations, but that's like McDonald's saying they will greet you with "Can I take your order?" without charging you per word, or your city saying they will let you drive under streetlamps at night for free.Quoth Seraph View PostWell, good point everyone. I'll probably go on ahead and get a few screenshots of all his pages, and compare them to my work. Not sure if I'll have enough but...might try and find a lawyer who will do a free consultation. (like THAT will happen)

CALL BLIZZARD NOW! FASTER!
But seriously, that whole situation is terrible. Blizzard can cut him down..they do it to people who they even think may smell like a scammer/hacker, they can do it to him. I hope its the right paypal acct...he also should have registered this name with the game. Also, check ebay and report all posts where characters are being sold as that goes against game TOS and ebay will pull the listing. If you have the time of course. But seriously, i hope he gets whats coming to him and quick
