  • The icing on the cake...

...wasn't the nasty mess caked all over the toilet. Or the fact that they turned used the shower as a urinal. Or the fact that you could barely see the carpet beneath all the trash and crap.

The icing on the cake, which makes this trashed room story worthy of CS.com, is that my housekeeper saw them outside shortly before they checked out, and they laughed at her! Which tells me they knew what a mess they'd left for her to clean up and thought it was funny.

Wonder how funny they'll think it will be if they return. I put them on the DNR list, and I put them under "By Request of Police", since DNR will clear them off after a year if I put it under "Trashed Room," but "BROP" is permanent!

    Way to go on that!

And they'll wonder what's going on when they get rejected next time.

This is where you sock their credit/debit card on file a nice additional cleaning fee and they'll see who is laughing when they check their account next. doucebags.

Can you forward that to other area hotels as well? Even those not in your chain?

We can't charge their CC. They paid cash, and we don't require a CC or a deposit. Even if they used a CC, we're not allowed to charge it.

A while ago, we tried to set up a mailing list with other hotels on the strip to share info like this, but no one seemed interested, so if they're not interested...

You must get taken advantage of a lot with no cc requirement. That stinks!

People like that should spend eternity in the circle of hell the devil has the giant vats of liquid feces in that he uses to drown SC's, then revive them, then drown them in diarrhoea again. Forever.

I do wonder, couldn't you report them for vandalism?

Even though they didn't actually damage the room, they did trash it up pretty nastily.

Of course, by this time I'm sure it's been cleaned already, so you no longer have any evidence.

You have NO idea! Or, maybe you do. Yeah, it stinks.

On one hand, it open the business up to travelers who, for whatever reason, don't have a CC or lots of cash. Sometimes their credit card was lost or stolen, sometimes they don't have a credit card or enough credit on their card and were suddenly stranded in town, and sometimes they're a transient who managed to save up enough to have a roof over their head for a night or two.

Probably 90-95% are okay, but the rest really tend to do a number on our rooms. I hate it.

You guys seriously need to start filing vandalism reports on the ones that trash the place.

I imagine as it stands, the word's out that you don't do anything, and that's why some people pull crap like that.

Yes, it's true, a lot of people have in fact decided to forswear credit cards, because they lead to nothing but financial trouble. I certainly did.

And yes, please file a vandalism report. A present for the cleaning lady might be nice, too.

Seconded on both. I'm thinking Jack Daniels and some brain bleach, preferably not at the same time, however >_>
