I have this nice flogger with a very high OUCH value*. I'm willing to lend it out for a good purpose.Quoth bardicwench View PostJust got told that I should leave the computers to men... like a good sweet girl... and the caller (old sounding guy) would take care of me.

Can't believe crap like that is still happening (well, I can, but I don't want to
). I got my computer degree and began as a programmer is 1981, and had to put up with that all the time, but you'd think after 30 years people would finally have realized that technical/computer abilities are not stored in the penis.
Madness takes it's toll....
Please have exact change ready.

Thanks.... ^_^ I stepped away from my computer, vented, and then laughed. His loss.Quoth Mytical View PostHow did I miss this thread?
Wenchie knows about 100 times more about computers then me, and I am going to college for it (this is just FYI). That was just .. creepy. *hugs* sorry you had to put up with that hun.
*giggle* This will be my happy dream for a while!Quoth terakhan View PostNah, I vote for the Vlad Tepes method: find him and about 10,000 of his friends and stake them out in a Forest of Sucky Customers, to warn off the invading army of morons coming in less than two months.
The funny thing is that in my department, on a normal day, there is only 1 male working. Some days there are 2. Some days, there are none. This particular day, there was 1 one guy on phones... the other 6 phone reps were women.Quoth Magpie View PostI like my version better. (Of course, 5 x 30 minutes, due to his own stupidity and jerkness = tech support had a 2.5 hour wait before anyone answered!)
Thanks Rabbi! :hugs:Quoth TheRabbi View PostBardic,
You know I'll drive out there and help you get reeducate this guy. Just let me know a time and place.

Luckily for this guy, he refused to give me his name & agent id, so I don't have any way to track him. I say "luckily" because you should have seen my manager's face when I brought this up in my yearly review today. Though that wasn't as bad as the face she made when I reminded her of the agent who was not only creepily hitting on me, but who also made a point of telling me that he was undressing while on the phone with me... that was a while back, and she had forgotten about that one!
Apparently I attract the Uncle Creepy callers!

According to my gender and technology required reading, science hired women for this - it was along the lines of clerical work, very appropriate for women. Businesses, on the other hand, had men doing the programming, it was a new, highly skilled field.Quoth Can I Help Your A$$? View PostI guess he didn't know that many of the old computer operators in the 50's and 60's (UNIVAC days) were women. Google computer history and you'll see mostly women. I think many women were hired for the same reason telephone operators and Star Trek communications officers were women.
